After a fantastic start to the Premier league, Chelsea will take on Brentford in an away game this Sunday. Manager Enzo Maresca will hope for his players to pick up from where they left off before the international break.

Despite sitting second in the league table, injuries has been a concerning factor for the Blues since the start of the season. With key players like Cole Palmer and Alejandro Garnacho who are still doubtful for the game this weekend.

Chelsea's latest signee Liam Delap is also out with a hamstring injury will most likely make his return to the squad late October at the earliest.

Arguably the Blues' best player last season, Palmer, had to be withdrawn from Chelsea's playing 11 against West Ham on matchday two due to a groin injury which he picked up while warming up and also failed to turn up on national duty with the England squad.

Maresca decided not to comment on Palmer's chances on playing against Brentford by saying that the player is taking it "day to day" but his reports before the international break suggested that the injury is nothing serious and the 23-year-old will be out for a short span of time.

Although one cannot be sure on Palmer's availability this weekend but given his professionalism for the game nothing can be completely ruled out as he is already seen training with the rest of the squad at Cobham.

On the other hand Chelsea's star signing of the summer, Garnacho, is also a doubtful for Sunday's game as he hasn't played since the month of May this year and understandably hasn't achieved full match fitness for the game this weekend but again a second half appearance cannot be ruled out for the Argentine winger.

Forward Joao Pedro's availability comes as a relief for the Blues as he was seen vomitting after a collision with fellow Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli during the international break but was able to carry on and will most likely feature against Brentford as Chelsea look to keep the momentum alive.
