
The international break remains to be a matter of concern for all the clubs around the world as another Chelsea player picked up a muscle injury during his national team duties.
With the likes of Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Liam Delap, Romeo Lavia and Benoit Badiashile sidelined for a majore portion of the season, the Blues are already short of personnel despite their brilliant start to the Premier league.
As announced the the Portuguese FA, latest Chelsea signee Dario Essugo picked up a muscle injury in his right thigh after training with the Portuguese U-21 side, adding to the list of injured Blues players.
The official statement from PFA read, "The Chelsea midfielder was excused from training due to a muscle problem in his right thigh, which he suffered after training," they also added, "The athlete was evaluated by the Portuguese Football Federation’s Health and Performance Department and was declared unavailable."
Essugo signed for the Londoners for a fee of £18.5million from Sporting Lisbon and is seen as a backup to Moises Caicedo. The 20-year-old made his debut for Chelsea during the Club World Cup matches but is yet to make an appearance in the premier league as manager Enzo Maresca left him in the bench during their first three league games.
With the defensive midfielder's latest injury, he remains doubtful for the Blues' game against Brentford next weekend and will have to wait to showcase his talent infront of Maresca.
