Pierre Menes says Maghnes Akliouche to PSG is not the 'idea of the century.' He questions where the Monaco star would fit in Luis Enrique's system.
To strengthen during the next transfer window, reports claim PSG is very interested in Maghnes Akliouche, the French international from AS Monaco. Pierre Menes thinks this is not the idea of the century.
Last week, Sacha Tavolieri announced on Sky Sports that Akliouche, 24, had informed his agents of his desire to join PSG. At least if PSG made a concrete offer to AS Monaco during the next transfer window.
The player trained in the Principality thinks it is now time for him to look elsewhere, and with two years left on his contract with the Principality club, everything seems possible.
However, when asked whether he had heard about the possible signing of Akliouche, Menes said he was not at all excited about the prospect. The former Canal Football Club consultant believes the French international will not find a place in Luis Enrique's PSG team.
On his YouTube channel, Menes outlined the reasons he doubted Akliouche's interest in joining Paris and PSG's interest in signing him.
"I think that if Monaco can make a good profit on Akliouche's transfer, they will do it. I hear about PSG, but now I don't really see what position he could play. I find him a little too offensive for PSG's midfield, but not offensive enough to play in attack. I have a hard time imagining Akliouche at PSG, but why not...," Menes explained.
At the beginning of April, Fabrizio Romano had indicated that several Premier League clubs had also informed AS Monaco of their interest in the player who should participate in the next World Cup with the French national team. To bring him in, the interested club will have to spend at least $55 million.
