The 2025 Texas Circuit Finals returned to the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas, again this year, bringing the top Texas rodeo athletes to compete under one roof for big honors. As part of the PRCA ProRodeo Circuit system, the Texas ProRodeo Circuit supports more than 100 sanctioned rodeos each year. There were exciting races in every event at this year's finals, keeping things interesting for the cowboys and cowgirls chasing an average title, a year-end title, and a trip to the NFR Open in 2026.
The bareback riding saw Bradlee Miller of Huntsville, Texas, dominate. Miller made his NFR debut last year and finished fourth in the world, and continued his hot streak this year going back to Vegas sitting No. 3. At the finals, he tied for first in rounds 1 and 3 and won round 4 to win the average and complete the year-end race. His impressive season included wins at many Texas rodeos, including majors like the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
In steer wrestling, Shayde Etherton from Borden, Indiana, won the average. This was after bringing home wins in Breckenridge and Huntsville during the regular season. He finished the year as reserve champion behind Bray Armes. Meanwhile, steer roping saw an underdog take charge, with Seth Schafer earning his first-ever PRCA win by taking the average. Cole Patterson claimed the year-end title once again.
Team ropers Cody Carter and Blake Bentley dominated the circuit finals, winning the average by more than 10 seconds with four steers roped in just over 26 seconds. Clay Tryan and Ty Arnold finished the year as the header and heeler year-end champions, respectively.
2022 World Champion Martha Angelone won the average of the breakaway roping along with the year-end title. Martha is now a 5x Texas Circuit Champion. She will return to the NFR Open as a veteran, where she took that title in 2022 as well.
In saddle bronc riding, Gus Gaillard of Morse, Texas, won the average. He finished the season in the top 30 of the world standings and earned the prestigious Rookie of the Year award for 2025. Jacobs Crawley won the year-end championship. The tie-down roping average went to Blane Cox of Stephenville, Texas, a two-time NFR qualifier, while Marty Yates took the year-end title.
The barrel race was tight throughout the finals. On top was Jordan Driver. Driver had a great year on the road, ending her season in the top 30. Alyssa Urbanek-Wade won the year-end title. The bull riding also highlighted a young talent, Bryce Jensen. The Huntsville cowboy won the average after winning the first and third rounds and delivering an 87-point ride in the fourth round.
Looking ahead, both the average and year-end champs from the 2025 Texas Circuit Finals qualified to compete at the 2026 NFR Open in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There, they will face the average and year-end winners from every PRCA circuit.
