While it's clear that the Pittsburgh Steelers could use some help on the offensive side of the football, it's also fair to note that the defense hasn't been up to the typical Steelers standard to start the season.

Throughout the first seven games of the year, the Steelers' defense has been just as bad as it's ever been, which is very concerning considering this team is typically built on that side of the football.

However, with the expectation that it’ll be figured out, we can look at the offense as an area to improve. Aaron Rodgers could use another receiver, and Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins might be one of the best to pursue, if he becomes available.

“Waddle is under contract through the end of the 2028 season and has been better as of late. The receiver has recorded at least 95 receiving yards in three of the Dolphins' last four games, posting 35 receptions for 504 yards and four touchdowns as the season nears the halfway mark,” Fox Sports wrote.

Despite FOX's thoughts, Jay Glazer believes many teams will be looking for wide receivers, corners, and pass rushers.

Because so many teams are looking for a wide receiver, it's possible that even if Waddle becomes available, the Steelers will have to pay a premium to bring him to Pittsburgh.

"There are a lot of teams looking for wide receivers. Teams are looking for corners. Everybody's looking for a pass rusher," Glazer said. "So, they are going to swing away, but I think that's going to be hard to get some of those bigger names. But we'll see, everyone has a price."

On the surface, Waddle would be the type of player that makes the most sense for the Steelers.

However, it also doesn't really make much sense for the Dolphins to move on from him. He has 504 yards and four touchdowns this season, despite playing in one of the worst offenses in the league.

In some of his prior years, he's been one of the better wide receivers in the NFL, but he also drops a concerning number of passes at times.

His ability to make that big play, however, should be a good thing for Pittsburgh if he ended up there.
