Tulane controls its playoff destiny, remaining the highest-ranked Group of Five team. A conference championship secures their shot at college football's biggest dance.

After landing in the driver's seat for the College Football Playoff in the Week 12 CFP rankings, the Tulane Green Wave remain in control of their destiny in the latest Week 13 rankings released on Tuesday night.

The Green Wave didn't move up, remaining No. 24 as the only Group of Five team ranked. They will host the American conference championship with a win over the Charlotte 49ers. Should they win out, their spot in the rankings guarantees them a spot in the playoff.

Here's a look at the complete Week 13 rankings.

    1. 1. Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0, 8-0 in Big Ten)
    2. 2. Indiana Hoosiers (11-0, 8-0 in Big Ten)
    3. 3. Texas A&M Aggies (11-0, 7-0 in SEC)
    4. 4. Georgia Bulldogs (10-1, 7-1 in SEC)
    5. 5. Texas Tech Red Raiders (10-1, 7-1 in SEC)
    6. 6. Oregon Ducks (10-1, 7-1 in Big Ten)
    7. 7. Ole Miss Rebels (10-1, 6-1 in SEC)
    8. 8. Oklahoma Sooners (9-2, 5-2 in SEC)
    9. 9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (9-2)
    10. 10. Alabama Crimson Tide (9-2, 6-1 in SEC)
    11. 11. BYU Cougars (10-1, 7-1 in Big 12)
    12. 12. Miami Hurricanes (Fla.) (9-2, 5-2, 5-2 in ACC)
    13. 13. Utah Utes (9-2, 6-2 in Big 12)
    14. 14. Vanderbilt Commodores (9-2, 5-2 in SEC)
    15. 15. Michigan Wolverines (9-2, 7-1 in Big Ten)
    16. 16. Texas Longhorns (8-3, 5-2 in SEC)
    17. 17. USC Trojans (8-3 in Big Ten)
    18. 18. Virginia Cavaliers (9-2, 6-1 in ACC)
    19. 19. Tennessee Volunteers (8-3, 4-3 in SEC)
    20. 20. Arizona State Sun Devils (8-3, 6-2 in Big 12)
    21. 21. SMU Mustangs (8-3, 6-1 in ACC)
    22. 22. Pittsburgh Panthers (8-3, 6-1 in ACC)
    23. 23. Georgia Tech Yellowjackets (9-2, 6-2 in ACC)
    24. 24. Tulane Green Wave (9-2, 6-1 in American)
    25. 25. Arizona Wildcats (8-3, 5-3 in Big 12)

With the current projections, the Green Wave would be the No. 12 team in the final rankings as the fifth conference champion, should they win out. They would be slated to play the No. 5 Texas Tech Raiders in the first round of the playoffs.

After landing at No. 24 in the Week 12 ranking released by the CFP committee, there was a question of whether Tulane would fall victim to the trap of each ranked American team before them. They responded with their most decisive, complete game of the season with a 37-13 win over the Temple Owls.

With everything in front of them, the Green Wave just need to lock in. The first step is beating the 49ers to close out regular season play. Do that, and they'll be hosting their second American conference championship and chasing a second title that would simultaneously send them to the biggest dance in college football.
