Liverpool Take On Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium

Bournemouth host Liverpool down on the South Coast this afternoon as Andoni Iraola returns to his former club with the hopes of leading Liverpool to only their second Premier League win of the season.

Both teams played midweek, but Liverpool have had two more days to recover than the Cherries, who won their first-ever European game on Thursday against Real Sociedad.

Liverpool Starting XI

Alisson Becker | Despite Giorgi Mamardashvili's superb performance against Tottenham in Liverpool's last match, Alisson is back in the starting lineup for this afternoon's Premier League clash.

Milos Kerkez | Kerkez returns to face his former club.

Virgil van Dijk | Van Dijk was not included in the squad against Tottenham and, as expected, he returns to the starting lineup today.

Jeremy Jacquet | Jacquet only played the second half against Tottenham, coming on for Joe Gomez at half time. He should be fresh and ready for this one, and will be hoping to continue his imperious form before heading off to play for France during the international break after receiving his first-ever call-up.

Ronald Araujo | Despite Frimpong having his best performance in a long time for Liverpool against Tottenham, Ronald Araujo returns to right-back for Liverpool's visit to the South Coast this afternoon.

Alexis Mac Allister | Mac Allister takes his place in Liverpool's midfield, a place that is well and truly his after a superb start to the season in renewed form.

Dominik Szoboszlai | Much has been said about Szoboszlai's suitability for Iraola's midfield, but the player himself believes that any flaws in the setup will be ironed out with more time playing under the head coach's system. He gets the chance to show it today.

Florian Wirtz | Wirtz, like Van Dijk, was not included in the squad against Tottenham. He returns to the starting lineup today and will be hoping to put in a big performance, as dissenting voices are not getting any quieter.

Cody Gakpo | Gakpo made his full return from the fitness issue he picked up against Ipswich, against Tottenham, and scored a trademark goal to boot. He starts again against Bournemouth this afternoon.

Bradley Barcola | Barcola has steadily built up his fitness over the last couple of matches. He will be looking to score his first Liverpool goal this afternoon against Bournemouth.

Alexander Isak | A goal today and Isak will have scored four in five Premier League games. That would represent a superb start to the season for the Swede, and a goal-scoring ratio that could carry Liverpool to a successful season this campaign.

Starting XI: Alisson, Kerkez, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Araujo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Gakpo, Barcola, Isak.

On the bench: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Tsimikas, Munoz, Frimpong, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Koumas, Ngumoha.
