PSG want to sign Mika Godts!More Videos

Paris Saint-Germain are now working hard to sign Mika Godts from Ajax. After missing out on Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola likely to leave, the Parisians have identified Godts as their top target to bolster their left wing.

With Ajax looking to challenge for the Eredivisie next season, Jordi Cruijff has said that Ajax want to keep Godts. The winger scored 17 goals and registered 12 assists in 32 Eredivisie appearances last season.

Despite Ajax's desire to keep Godts, the Belgian's move to the French capital seems to be progressing rapidly.

Godts was spotted with Luis Campos, PSG's technical director, in Portugal on Friday, and the European champions have an agreement in place on personal terms with the winger.

PSG make opening bid

With an agreement in place between PSG and Godts on personal terms, the Ligue 1 club is working hard to reach an agreement with Ajax.

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG's opening bid is a total package of around €45 million, which is under Ajax's initial valuation of €60 million.

Despite the gap in valuation, Romano says that negotiations between the two clubs are moving fast.

How could Ajax replace Godts?

Replacing Godts will be far from an easy task, and Ajax's chances of winning the Eredivisie would be drastically higher if he were to stay. Should he leave, though, the transfer fee would provide Ajax with a substantial amount of money to replace him.

One potential option could be Noa Lang. The former Ajax winger joined Napoli last summer after an impressive season at PSV Eindhoven, but his time in Naples has not gone to plan.  He only started seven Serie A games last season before being loaned out to Galatasaray in January.

The Turkish giants had the option to sign Lang for €30 million, but decided not to activiate that that clause, with Lang only managing two goals in 19 appearances in all competitions.

While the last year of Lang's career hasn't gone to plan, his time at PSV and Club Brugge proves that he is a very good player who is more than capable of making a big impact in the Eredivisie, and Ajax may well consider a move for the Dutchman if the price is right.

Another potential option would be starting Oscar Gloukh on the left wing, and using new signing Julian Brandt as a no. 10. In that case, Ajax could invest the money from selling Godts into strengthening the midfield, particularly the no. 6 position.
