Tether Stablecoin Sees 22% Growth in 2023 Despite Dollar-Pegged Token Economy's Contraction
The number of tether stablecoins in circulation has increased by more than 22% this year, from 66 billion in January 2023 to 80.9 billion today. Tether's growth is getting closer to the project's peak of $83 billion in circulating stablecoins in May 2022.

Tether Supply Is Nearing Its All-Time High
The stablecoin market has as of late contracted and is at present floating around $131.94 billion. There are a number of dollar-pegged coins that are to blame for the decline in the stablecoin market's supply of tokens. Usd coin (USDC) has seen a 12.6% decrease in supply over the past month, while binance usd (BUSD) has seen a 18.9% decrease in supply. On the other hand, Tether (USDT) has grown by more than 22% this year, going from 66 billion tethers in January to 80.93 billion today. With a market capitalization of 6.213% of the $1.2 trillion in value, Tether ranks third in the cryptocurrency economy. Tether trades account for 55.56% of every trade settled in the cryptocurrency economy over the last day, with a 24-hour volume of approximately $29 billion. After briefly reaching $81 billion on April 17, Tether's market capitalization was around $80 billion. The most recent time Tether's market value exceeded $83 billion was in May 2022, when USDT's value exceeded $83 billion. After that point, the lowest decline in valuation was $65 billion in November 2022.
