Shrove (pancake) Tuesday

Today is Shrove Tuesday in the Christian world, or Pancake day in my house 😂 Shrove Tuesday marks the last day before Lent, when Christians give up a valued item from chocolate to tech, for 40 days. It leads the faith towards Easter and reminds of Jesus' 40 days and 40 nights in the desert. The idea to make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday traditionally came from a pre-lent clear out, the need to remove fatty, sugary foods from the house. And so, we make pancakes and have some nice toppings as a special treat.  I made my kids chocolate chip pancakes and for toppings they chose maple syrup, sprinkles, strawberries and raspberries. Best way to clear the head 😊

I've been a busy bee lately and this past week my kids have been off school. I can tell you, it's been madness. So this morning I had a rare opportunity to do a short walk along a sea path in one of my favourite places. Here it is ⬇️😊 I love the sea. It's so beautiful, mysterious and dangerous. I recorded a little video too. I love the sound of the water rushing back against the pebbles, even more thsn the waves splashing in.  Do you like the seaside? I can see clearly now

This week I got glasses for the first time. It turned out I have some eye problems and I never realised how much I can't see until now I wear them and I can see clearly. I don't like to wear them, but it is like a new world I am seeing, a beautiful crisp world with clear straight lines and sadly I can see a little more dirt in my house 🤭 I don't want them on but I daren't take them off.  I thought I was being cool selecting clear retro frames, but InnaT already told me they look like Granny glasses. 🫣🤣 Jan 22, 2023

Unexpected snow day ❄️

Recently @mmk and @InnaT have both shared about their snowy weather. A few days ago I also had snow but really just a dusting. It was forecast to leave by today. Instead, this morning we woke up to a few more cms again. We are never well prepared for snow here, cars were skidding and getting stuck on roads. Soon I will go shopping and try to buy my kids a sled. I saw some discounted a few days ago, so everyone hope for us that there are some left 🤞Jan 19, 2023

Do you love chocolate?

I firmly believe everyone loves chocolate. If you say that you don't, you are simply in denial. For me, chocolate is one of life's absolute joys. Genuinely, there are few things in life to bring me this kind of happiness 😂 Today we made a variety of the popular American treats called smores.  All you need is chocolate, biscuits (in the UK we use digestives) and marshmallows.  In a tray you put chocolate, then marshmallow. Then cook. I used an airfryer because we've had one for years but apparently now everyone raves about them 😄 It is finished when the marshmallows grow and brown. And now the best bit, you dip in your biscuits. Eat more than 2, and you will feel sick. But a joyful and content kind of sick 😅Jan 10, 2023

3 new children

I treated myself to some little baby plants.  3 baby birds nest ferns. They are a little grubby from their journey to me. Only 5-7cm each. I have kept 4 children alive so far, but I feel less confident on the survival of these little ones. Next I need to get them some more compost and a tiny pot each. Holiday crafts

Today we collected some big white pebbles at the beach. I didn't take any photos there, it was very cold and blowing a gale. Then we warmed up and got to try out our new acrylic paint pens that Santa brought. It was fun to be active and creative, and do a fun activity over the Christmas break as a family. Dec 27, 2022

Merry Christmas 🎄🎅

Hi everyone 🥰 I planned to wait until New Year to try out posting here, but I want to say Merry Christmas to some of you and share my first photo which is a festive one.  Here I went with some of my little ones on a magical Christmas adventure, through the wardrobe to Narnia, and on an enchanted adventure to meet Santa.  It was a memory I hope is retained forever.  Merry Christmas to all of you who will be celebrating. Dec 23, 2022
