Kawachi Fuji is primarily famous for tunnels of wisteria – flowers that most people know as wisteria. This plant comes from the subtropics.
It actively curls, and during flowering it blooms lush brushes with flowers, usually purple shades.
Nevertheless, there are a large number of species of wisteria that have different shades of inflorescences.
The Kawachi Fuji Garden is rich in a wide variety of species of this amazing plant. Visitors can enjoy the view of purple, blue, pink, purple, white and violet-blue flowers.
The Japanese wisteria owns the longest and brightest brushes, which have a rather strong aroma. Wisteria bloom in the Land of the rising Sun from April to May.
The abundance of flowers on a tree depends on how many years it has lived: the older it is, the more blooming buds there are.
All plants are carefully monitored and cared for. They are constantly reinforced with numerous stands.
Wisteria adorning the tunnels create a particularly strong impression. In total, there are two tunnels in the Kawachi Fuji Garden, 80 and 200 meters long, which entangle about 150 wisteria trees.
Some of them are more than 100 years old, which can be noticed if you look closely at the number of colors on them.
