Why 41,000 women ‘missing’ in Gujarat is different from Kerala story

May 18, 2023 2:38 AM

Close on the heels of the controversy about the veracity of ‘truth’ in the movie’s claims of 32,000 women going missing in Kerala due to forced conversions, a media report, quoting National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, claimed that 41,321 women went ‘missing’ in Gujarat in five years, between 2016 and 2020

In my opinionmissing person cases should receive the same attention as murder cases. It was also noted that these cases often involve interstate trafficking, leading to outcomes like slavery or prostitution.

However, let's set aside those matters. Instead, let's focus on a fictional narrative involving 32,000 women. We also not forgot about he 1 lakh to 2lakh  individuals who lost their homein Delhi capital  and Manipur. No, we won't discuss that. Let's adhere to a specific political party's agenda. We can talk about Kashmiri Pandits, but wait, apparently that issue has been resolved now. So, we can no longer discuss it during primetime news. Instead, let's divert our attention to Pappu.
