Adserver payment? How does that work?

You all had one of those adserver payments either saying publisher payment or owner payment but I have seen quite a few people confused to what it actually means and why it is never a round number.

I will try to explain that.

Publisher means that you got money for a post you publishedPublisher means that you got money for a post you published
Owner for one you own. Owner for one you own.

It doesn't mean that all the money was gathered from an owner or published post, just that the last one was.

First I will need to break down why we get those.

Each time someone clicks on a post you own or created you get some part of the advertisement banner in place. For METABBS we are boosted to $150 plus whatever the person running paid so $150+1 to $150. This money is divided in 1000 clicks CPM meaning Cost Per Mille (I.E. 1000). So say you have a $151 campaign running this is a click giving $.151 divided equally between owner and publisher. So you get $.0755 per click unless you are both.

Now imagine that the adserver is a Japanese Shishi-odoshi (see bellow). The water is the impression money and it fills the bamboo bellow but until the bamboo reaches a certain amount of water, it will not pour it down.

It doesn't matter how long it takes to fill it to $1 or over, you will only get it once that limit is reached. Though since you get uneven amount of money you can easily get widely varying sums.

Note that if the last click is on a post you own and posted, you will get even more, which is why there is a $1.13 in that listNote that if the last click is on a post you own and posted, you will get even more, which is why there is a $1.13 in that list

I hope that made this clearer.
