THANKSGIVING : orror Genre Is My Favorite : Competition Entry Post :

Horror Genre Is My Favorite : Competition Entry Post : My Review Of Thanksgiving Horror Movie šŸŽ„ Of 2023 ...  This is an amazing horror film that Eli Roth has made and it should be getting more attention and it deserves a wider audience. This movie is sort of underrated, and it should be viewed higher. Great special effects, acting, directing, writing and performances. The opening sets up everything for the entire movie. I love the ending. Each kill is very violent, graphic, bloody and gory. This movie is my favorite that Eli Roth has done. Hostel part 1 is no longer first place it is now second place in my favorite Eli Roth movies. I can tell that Eli Roth cares about his fans and he listens to what his fans want and takes their suggestions into consideration while also making his vision for his movie come true.  Actors and actresses did a great job with the material they were given. Again doesnt feel oscar winning but its more the fault of campy script writing than it is the skill of the talent...all to say that the campiness is what gives the film a bit more love than it probably deserves.  Eli Roth’s excellent contribution to Grindhouse finally gets a feature-length expansion and I was unsure where it would initially land for me. Gone is the whole 80’s cheap slasher aesthetic and in its place is a sleek 90’s slasher look and feel. Roth isn't afraid to give us a lean and mean slasher that delivers some of best gore in his films since Hostel: Part II. Sure the story is dumb but it’s dumb in a very fun way that knows exactly what it is.  This Clip was More Terrifying For Me : Thanksgiving takes the obscene gore and POV shots of the 80’s slashers and combines it with the smart whodunnit feel of films such as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. If you know me, this hits all the right endorphin spots of my brain. The finale with the killer in particular is a standout as it recreates some of the best moments in the old trailer in new/smart ways. I kept sitting in disbelief that they actually pulled it off. Eli Roth is my favorite horror movie director and I’ve been watching his films since I was a teenager. As an adult I love his movies even more. Thanksgiving is a much watch and I highly recommend it for all horror fans this is what an Oscar winning horror movie looks like. šŸ‘šŸ»

SLEEPING DOGS | (Russell Crowe)

I really liked the movie Sleeping Dogs with Russell Crowe! I kept thinking it was really sad that (Crowe) had dementia , how he has notes throughout his own house to remind him of who he is........ However being on clinical trails, helps his mental memory when receiving an old cold case reopens because Issac a black man was forced into saying he killed a well-known professor because of a detective whom coursed him into saying he did so is wrong........ I wasn’t sure who murdered the professor throughout the secrets, lies. ......  The good actors of the movie play their roles well.......The beautiful Karen Gillan mixes beauty with evil and feeds the poisoned concoction of crime to others........Marton Csokas, who is always one of the best worst of cinema.......Russell Crowe shines as always, he makes even bad movies tolerable but here, he is not everything and this is not a bad movie...... It’s amazing to watch Russel Crowe acting as he slowly regains memories while struggling to revisit a case that put a man on death row ten years prior...... Crowe peels back the layers slowly and subtly as he pulls his life story back together in his mind...... I can usually predict the ending of a mystery ten minutes into the movie, but at the end of Sleeping Dogs my jaw dropped! Russel Crowe was so believable in his pain and his journey it was incredible to watch.....I don’t care how many years go by Russel Crowe is still achingly attractive and a joy to watch perform his craft. Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks

I enjoyed the look into sandys past and her family granted we've seen pictures of her parents and they aren't them . but I'm not defending it in anyway it has many in consistency. Like sandy is all of a sudden a flying squirrel and spongebob acts to way to smart he was never flat out dumb but he's always been a little dimwitted this movie made him a wee bit to smart for his character. Okay well now it's interesting because of the references like sandy using spongebob as a parachute like patrick did and it was alright to finally see randy as sandy always talked about him . Sandy's family were so annoying, the only tolerable one was Randy, but then they had to make him into the guy that stole acorns and got the police chasing after them. The human actors are very crynge . The main villian looks like dollar store dr.electro from sharkboy and lavagirl, and the two lab assistants actors have horrible writing everything they say comes off with no emotion and just leaves a feeling of uncomfortableness.....  In this movie I thought SpongeBob was the best one, SPONGEBOB, recently SpongeBob has became so annoying and unfunny it’s actually crazy but how is he the better character in this? I actually mildly laughed at some of his jokes which if you watch recent SpongeBob episode then you’d understand why that matters. Another thing that I hated was they practically ruined Sandy, they made her this carnival freak and I wish her family was hanged because they suck, they also either forgot or left out Sandy’s sister from that one episode, WHY MAKE HER IF YOURE JUST GONNA FORGET ABOUT HER...  But in my honest opinion it's alright it wasn't meant to stand up to the other movies because it's whats known in the movie business as a stand alone movie it's set in the same universe but it doesn't follow the other movies because next year another stand alone movie is planned to release and it's about plankton. But if you don't like the stand alones there's a 4th main installment in the trilogy coming out next year......  Dropping Trailer Now.....

" THE BOY WHO HARNESSED THE WIND "

I absolutely loved this movie, it is amazing in its portrayal of a real life story. It reminds me of the movie ā€œThe Good Lieā€. This is one of those movies that will fill your heart with joy at how far we as a people can come with sheer will power alone and how much knowledge some one with no knowledge but the ā€œwantā€ to learn .An incredibly beautiful, must-watch movie. Based on true story, it tells you how a young boy built a windmill by reading books to save the village from draught. So , due to boy's family's financial condition, he needs to drop out of school. He nevertheless uses all opportunities to learn and absord as much as possible..... This is truly a heartbreaking story about the inordinate sufferings faced by an African country- Malawi, but the relevance is found in many such countries affected by global climate change, yet it’s a story of inspiration and courage- courage to break the shackles that bind you to extreme grief and poverty against all odds.  At some point, just the way it happens in many poor nations, a natural calamity strikes in the form of a famine and the people are left to fend for themselves. Things get from bad to worse in the enusing voilence in which the family's limited inventory of corn is also stolen.... The kid has a plan to use the wind to generate electricity using which his farm can be irrigated from the open well. But he needs his father's bike to be dismantled to create it. The name of the story does reveal if the boy succeeded in his perusasion and his outcome. It's true that William is an example of a focused, brilliant young man who put his gift of knowledge to better his community. The fact that he went on to graduate from Dartmouth just blows me away. The acting is extraordinary and heart wrenching. I would highly recommend for any science teacher studying energy, alternative energy, magnetism or electricity as well as anyone looking to create a value in education for any of their students....  Dropping Trailer Now.....  Source: My Personal Review

The Idea Of You

I was truly blown away by the chemistry between both characters. I’m a huuuuuge fan of Anne H. and then the first time I ever saw Nick was in the Netflix film called Purple Hearts. So when I saw the trailer for The Idea of You starring these two characters, I was very intrigued! The movie did not disappoint at all! I’ve watched it 10X’s by now and still absolutely love it! You won’t be disappointed!!  To me, what makes this movie stunning is it's not korny, too love focused, too chick-flicky or a typical rom-com. In fact, I don't consider it a rom-com at all! ... I think it's grounded yet heart-wrenching ... Very sweet, very passionate. One of the most intriguing aspects of the movie is the character of Dan Egan, SolĆØne's ex-husband, who serves as a stark contrast to Hayes. Dan is depicted as a more conventional choice, a stable and dependable partner compared to the youthful exuberance of Hayes. Despite their separation, Dan remains a significant presence in SolĆØne's life, offering a sense of familiarity and comfort that stands in contrast to the excitement and uncertainty of her relationship with Hayes. Dan's past failures loom large, particularly his inability to defeat Hayes, the ultimate Rizz King. Throughout his time in Washington D.C., Dan's ambition and drive to succeed often put him at odds with Hayes, whose rise to power and influence posed a formidable challenge. Despite his best efforts, Dan finds himself outmaneuvered and outwitted by Hayes, a fact that continues to haunt him as he embarks on his new life in New York City. Hiiiiighly recommended! There is romance, family drama, brokenness, healing, opportunities for a second chance, music, growth, and so much more! You definitely gotta watch it! Dropping Trailer Now .....

" Godzilla Minus One "

" Godzilla Minus One " Freddiee's Review :  This movie is one of the best I’ve seen this year..... Even if you’re not familiar with the Godzilla franchise it’s an amazing introduction to the franchise.... It holds the perfect balance of seriousness, thriller, horror, even some laughs here and there, and is overall a well paced movie in terms of the story....  Godzilla himself doesn’t show up constantly, but I think that’s a good thing.... Too much of something can throw off the pacing which is why I think it’s good that he isn’t present constantly....Every time he is on screen I was on the edge of my seat, he is portrayed perfectly..... He genuinely feels like a force of nature that is fuelled by resent, anger, and pain..... It feels as though he’s seeking revenge for what mankind did to him. In a way that makes him sympathetic, but you also can’t help but root for his downfall..... Here, he is terrifying and part of what makes him so scary is the fact that you genuinely care about these peoples safety after getting to know them and see them rebuild their broken town, so when Godzilla comes ashore you can’t help but hope they make it out unscathed....  The visual effects were absolutely mind blowing, bringing Godzilla and the other monstrous creatures to life in such a realistic and awe inspiring way.... The battle scenes were nothing short of epic, leaving me in awe of the sheer scale and intensity. I love the fact it doesn’t waste time with a convoluted origin story with tonnes of exposition and plot conveniences....This movie understands what people want from a movie like this and they deliver in spectacular fashion....With all the great movies that have come from this year, please go watch this as soon as you can.... It’s my definitive best movie of this year for sure .......  Dropping Trailer Now ......

" TITANIC "

It is a blockbuster movie that was released in 1997, directed by James Cameron, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The film is an epic romance and disaster movie that recounts the tragic story of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, the largest passenger ship of its time, in 1912  I just watched it for the first time and I am kicking myself in the behind for not watching it way before now. This is the BEST movie and GREATEST love story I’ve ever seen. This movie really got me in my feelings. They could not have chosen anyone better than Leonardo DiCaprio( he is gorgeous) and Kate Winslet to play jack and rose. They played those characters with so much heart and feeling that it almost seemed like real life.  The performances by DiCaprio and Winslet are outstanding, and their chemistry on screen is palpable. DiCaprio's portrayal of Jack is charming and likable, while Winslet's portrayal of Rose is powerful and determined. Their performances make the tragic ending all the more heart-wrenching. You could tell they really gave it their all and I cried like a baby at the end. And the music My heart will go on by Celine Dion was the perfect song for this movie. It just really moves you. And the way they recreated the titanic was Phenomenal from all the rooms to the stair case and to the actual sinking of the ship made you feel like you were there in real life. Like I said you will not be disappointed. The Greatest love story ever. Dropping Trailer.....

" THANKSGIVING " Freddiee Review

This was definitely the best slasher movie of the year and made scream VI feel like a coco melon episode. This goofy but gory film has a lot of interesting moments and tenseness. I could find myself leaning out of my seat every chase scene. The characters were funny and rememberable which made the story feel a lot more alive and immersed. It really surprised me on how I thought the movie was going to be extremely corny but it remains the funny and gory output throughout the entire film.  I have no idea how the rest of the world will receive this film, but this completely blew me away. Thanksgiving was everything I wanted and more, Roth completely delivered on all fronts. I can only predict it will be trashed and forgotten like the rest of Eli Roth's work, but perhaps just maybe others will agree with me.  I have to say that the kills in this film were completely creative and well-done in their own ways which in that case makes it a horror movie with some elements of dark comedy. The plot twist in the film was absolutely well done and gave some explanation on what happened in the first act of the movie. The ending of the film was also shoddy. Killer wasn’t entirely expected so that’s nice, but it all seemed rushed. There was another cheesy one liner, a lot of luck on Jessica’s part and lack there of for the sheriff, and then the weak line of ā€œwe didn’t find anything but ash… but no one could have survived that fire… ā€ Which may lead to a sequel that will probably be poorly done given the source material.....  Eli Roth is my favorite horror movie director and I’ve been watching his films since I was a teenager. As an adult I love his movies even more. Thanksgiving is a much watch and I highly recommend it for all horror fans this is what an Oscar winning horror movie looks like.... THE WATCHERS

I've been a big fan of M. Night Shyamalan with a few hiccups. I went and saw this one after watching ten seconds of the trailer and I was not disappointed. I would describe this movie as having a dry ending which is unusual for Shyamalan. This is a story of a old folklore tale, which is told by a woman, who was incarcerated while traveling to a zoo, to deliver a bird, from a pet shop, she worked at.What makes this movie, is the story, that stays focus on Dakota's character and doesn't stray away from that. Dakota fans won't be disappointed. I was really intrigued when I realized it was based off of Irish mythology. and I love mythology so I was really happy to see that it wasn't some generic horror film. the thriller was the main genre but that's part of what i like about it! i prefer more psychological stuff that keeps you thinking and looking around for clues so i was pretty happy with the more puzzle kind of vibe of it rather than "ooh scary spill your popcorn and almost have a heart attack".  The ending was not a big splashy gore-fest that most horror movies employ... There was a big climax that reminded me the chase at the begining of Raiders of the Lost ark. (Start the plane!) The movie had a logic and stuck to it and I really like it when they do that.... The "Twist" that Shyamalan is so famous for, was absolutely there, but it was subtle and logical, well, for a horror movie and that in itself was unusual....   I didn’t get bored of it one second I was watching it. I was interested the whole time during this movie. They did an amazing job with it and I will definitely be watching it again....I really hope they make another one. Definitely go watch this movie if you are into thrillers ......  Dropping Trailer Now.......
