Olympiacos is reportedly interested in former Manchester City defender Pablo Maffeo as a replacement for Brighton-linked Costinha. The 28-year-old Argentine has a contract with Mallorca until 2027.
A former Manchester City defender is being linked with a move to Greece, where Olympiacos is looking for alternatives to reinforce its right back position.
According to the specialized site TransferFeed, Thrylos has shown interest in signing 28-year-old Argentine right-back Pablo Maffeo, who currently plays for RCD Mallorca.
The report indicates that Jose Luis Mendilibar's team sees Maffeo as a good option to replace Costinha, who has been strongly linked with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Although the future of Brazilian Rodinei remains uncertain, even if he stays, Mendilibar often uses the versatile 34-year-old as a winger rather than a defender, so the Greek club definitely needs to reinforce that area.
Maffeo joined the Spanish club in July 2022 after previously playing for Manchester City, Girona, Stuttgart, and SD Huesca. His contract with his club extends until June 2027, so for him to leave, an offer must convince the La Liga side.
According to the same report, Panathinaikos has also shown interest. His market value is around $5.5 million according to Transfermarkt.

Additionally, the Legend needs to have four association-trained players, of whom, at the moment, they have only Konstantinos Fortounis, who seems to have everything arranged to return to his beloved club.

There has been talk of including Isidoros Koutsidis with a first-team spot to comply with the club-trained players rule, as Alexios Kalogeropoulos is reportedly on his way out, but even so, Olympiacos would need to sign three Greek players.
