Crypto NoobsAfter a turbulent 2022 owing to macroeconomic headwinds, Solana’s performance improved substantially in the first quarter of the year. Data suggested that its market cap increased by more than 118% QoQ along with the broader market.
Furthermore, numerous ecosystem developments fueled fee payer and transaction activity during Q1.
Solana’s Performance in Q1
Solana’s network outages previously sparked conversations around potential insolvency. But its performance stabilized after upgrades such as QUIC, priority fees (local fee markets), and Stake-Weighted Quality of Service (QOS). In Q1, the layer one blockchain network witnessed significant growth across DeFi, NFTs, and GameFi verticals.
According to the latest Messari report, the total value locked in Solana, denominated in USD, surged by 23.5% QoQ. However, TVL denominated in SOL was down by 40.7% during the same period, indicating that “the asset price increases in USD vs. new capital inflow drove TVL.”
Liquid staking derivatives (LSDs) continued supporting the Solana ecosystem, with Marinade Finance, Lido, Jito, and JPool growing their TVL by 100% or more during the quarter. These four LSDs also managed to make it into the top 20 by TVL.
Other protocols, such as Orca, Raydium, and Solend, grew their TVL massively alongside the wider market rebound.
A similar trend was seen across Solana’s NFT ecosystem as well. Messari’s data revealed that the total number of daily new NFTs increased from 2.6 million to 2.9 million QoQ, which represented a nearly 12% surge. NFT sales volume in the secondary market denominated in terms of USD was up by almost 36%.
This is in contrast to the DeFi, as sales denominated in SOL went up by 20% before skyrocketing, essentially signaling that “sales activity was not purely accrued by asset price increases in USD.”
Meanwhile, the unique buyers exceeded the unique sellers during the first quarter. The total buyer count stood at 889,000, while sellers were recorded to be 887,000.
Aftermath FTX Implosion
Solana’s strong ties with Sam Bankman-Fried’s crypto empire – which invested in nine of its projects from December 2020 to March 2022 – turned out to be a disaster for the network. This ignited rumors of developer exodus.
But with the launch of more and more applications this year, their user base went up as well. This trend helped in increasing and stabilizing active programs in the Solana ecosystem. As such, there were 58,000 unique active programs in Q1 2022, which has increased to 96,000 in Q1 2023.

Crypto NoobsThe Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) is taking significant strides in the world of fintech by introducing a gold-backed digital currency that will act as a legal tender for transactions within the country.
This move is aimed at stabilizing the local currency and represents the first steps by the central bank towards using Zimbabwe’s gold reserves to anchor the Zimbabwe dollar.
Zimbabwe still dealing with money problems
The digital gold tokens, a form of digital money backed by gold held at the central bank, will enable those holding small amounts of Zimbabwe dollars to change their money for tokens, thereby preserving value and hedging against exchange rate volatility.
This development comes as the RBZ considers releasing more Mosi-oa-Tunya gold coins to mitigate the recent depreciation of the Zimbabwe dollar on the market.
RBZ Governor Dr. John Mangudya believes that the parallel market foreign currency exchange rate will stabilize when tobacco farmers receive their portion of United States dollar payments this week.
The launch of digital gold tokens is expected to supplement the Mosi-oa-Tunya gold coins by offering an alternative investment avenue for storing value and transacting.
As central banks worldwide develop their own digital currencies to boost financial inclusion, reduce payment fees, and make money smarter, Zimbabwe is joining the ranks of countries like Russia, which is working with allied nations such as Iran and China to create systems for cross-border settlements in gold-backed digital currencies.
In other fintech news, the Federal Reserve denies that FedNow is a central bank digital currency (CBDC) amidst growing anti-CBDC sentiment. Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of Australia is outlining retail CBDC pilot projects, testing 14 use cases and working with major lenders and other firms.
According to our overview, over 20 countries will take significant steps toward piloting a CBDC. Australia, Thailand, Brazil, India, South Korea, and Russia are predicted to join or continue pilot testing, and the European Central Bank also intends to kick off with trials this year.

Crypto NoobsShiba Inu ecosystem tokens (SHIB, BONE and LEASH) continue to gain attention from crypto exchanges, as seen in new listings as well as considerations for upcoming listings. Blockbank, a neo-banking platform based in Lithuania, has listed Shiba Inu (SHIB) on its CeFi platform. CetoEX, a top Dubai-based exchange, also announced the listing of BONE on April 24.
As reported, Seychelles-based crypto exchange OKX announced it will list BONE after it emerged the winner in a recent poll.
The excitement further progressed as a major Asian crypto exchange announced the listing of BONE. In the past few days, Shiba Inu governance token BONE has seen three listing announcements. Flitpay, a popular Indian crypto exchange, is currently conducting a poll on which coins to list next. It presents REEF and BONE as the two cryptocurrencies it is considering and asks the crypto community to vote for their choice.
The poll, which is going for about 15 more hours, has yet to receive attention from the Shiba Inu community, as seen in the current votes gathered. BONE might be listed on Flitpay if it emerges as the winner of the poll, although further details are not yet available at the time of writing. Shibarium, which is presently in beta, remains a positive fundamental boost for Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens. According to a Telegram screenshot, Shiba Inu's lead says Shibarium is in "go mode" in response to inquiries into the development of the Layer 2 protocol. According to IntoTheBlock, Shiba Inu's large transactions are up 241% in the last 24 hours, suggesting whale moves. Meanwhile, the SHIB price traded down 1.71% in the last 24 hours to $0.0000101.

Crypto NoobsBitcoin (BTC), the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, could face a major security threat due to its unsustainable growth trajectory. According to a recent analysis by Justin Bons, founder of Cyber Capital, BTC must double in value every four years or sustain extremely high fees to maintain its current level of security.
Is Bitcoin’s Security Linked To Its Price?
In Bons’ analysis, he highlights that Bitcoin’s security model is based on its mining network, which requires a constant flow of new miners to maintain its security. However, suppose the price of Bitcoin continues to rise at its current pace. In that case, it will eventually reach a point where the cost of mining will become too high, leading to a decline in the number of miners and a subsequent decrease in security.
To put it simply, Bitcoin’s security is inextricably linked to its price, and if the price continues to rise at its current pace, it will eventually become unsustainable. Bons suggests that BTC may need to find a new solution to maintain its security or risk becoming a victim of its success.
Furthermore, Bons argues that Bitcoin’s security and technical foundation are “made out of the sand” and that the cryptocurrency’s growth model is based on “false hope.” He suggests that paying hundreds of dollars for a single transaction is unrealistic in a competitive market and that when fees spike, users leave, leading to a decline in the network’s overall security.
Bons also blames the unnecessary addition of the block size limit for exacerbating the problem. He argues that this limit has created a free market prone to spikes and volatility and has led to a decline in Bitcoin’s overall security.
Will BTC Have More Options In The Future
Ultimately, Bons’ analysis suggests that if BTC’s growth trajectory continues at its current pace, there will come the point where the network’s security budget will run out completely, leaving it vulnerable to censorship and double-spending.
According to Bons, only two choices will be left: allowing censorship and double spending to occur as the network gets 51% attacked or increasing BTC’s supply inflation beyond the 21 million limits. Bons suggests the latter is the best option, though both options will likely occur as the network forks.
However, it’s important to note that not all experts could agree with Bons’ analysis. Some may argue that Bitcoin’s security can be maintained even if its growth slows. Others suggest that new technologies like the Lightning Network can help reduce transaction costs and maintain security.
The Lightning Network is a second-layer payment protocol built on the Bitcoin blockchain. It was designed to address some scalability issues Bitcoin faces, particularly the slow transaction processing times and high fees associated with on-chain transactions.
The Lightning Network creates a network of payment channels between two parties, allowing them to transact with each other off-chain. Smart contracts secure these payment channels and facilitate multiple microtransactions between the parties without broadcasting each transaction to the Bitcoin network.
While the Lightning Network is not a complete solution to Bitcoin’s scalability issues, it represents a significant step forward in improving the efficiency and usability of the Bitcoin network. As such, it will likely play an increasingly important role in the future of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Crypto NoobsElon Musk's recent attempt to debunk a persistent rumor surrounding his family's alleged ownership of an emerald mine has backfired in a hilarious way. As reported by U.Today, the controversial Tesla and SpaceX CEO recenty took to Twitter to offer a one million Dogecoin reward to anyone who could provide evidence that the mine existed. The response he received was unexpected: his own father, Errol Musk, stepped forward to claim the prize, asserting that he could indeed prove the mine's existence. The controversy began with social media users debating the validity of the emerald mine claim, and Musk himself dismissing the rumors as "annoying." However, in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, Musk's father revealed that it was his emerald venture that contributed to Elon's initial success in the United States. He also described his reaction to Elon's Dogecoin challenge, saying, "When I read that, I wondered, 'Can I enter, because I can prove it existed.'
Elon's father went on to explain that all of the Musk children were aware of the emerald mine, and even his daughter possesses several emerald pendants. The disclosure has sparked a flurry of reactions on Twitter, with users calling out Elon for spreading falsehoods and questioning his motives for offering the Dogecoin challenge in the first place. Musk's connection to emerald mines traces back to his family's involvement in the mining industry in Zambia, a country in southern Africa. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, his father co-owned an emerald mine in the mineral-rich region. Errol Musk, a successful engineer, and entrepreneur, had various business ventures during this period, one of which was the Zambian emerald mine. The mine's profits reportedly played a significant role in supporting the Musk family's lifestyle, and by extension, Elon's early years. The emerald mine's existence has been a point of contention for years, with many arguing that it contributed to Elon Musk's privileged upbringing, which in turn facilitated his rise to prominence.

Crypto NoobsFilecoin [FIL] has been on a losing streak over the past week, dropping as much as 17% at press time, as per CoinMarketCap. The primary reason behind the decline could be the technical glitches plaguing the decentralized storage network.
The most recent issue appears to be a delay in block production according to a discussion on the Github platform. The Filecoin development team stated that this has resulted in a loss of revenue for storage providers (SPs) and reduced chain quality.
However, there was some good news as the team proposed a network upgrade which could fix the ongoing disruption.
Network upgrade to come shortly?
Filecoin’s lotus team suggested to advance the upcoming nv19 upgrade from 11 May to 27 April in order to address the current issue in block production.
The team was of the view that longer block sync times were a major contributing factor to the problem and FIP0060, which was a part of nv19, could significantly reduce block sync times.
The core developers proposed to remove the activation bug fix from nv19 and postpone it to a later date. By removing the vast majority of migration work, the upgrade risk could be reduced.
However, despite a major glitch, the development activity on the network declined over the past week. A drop in this parameter signaled that the effort required to clean up the network of disruptions was not up to the mark.
A look at network stats
Apart from the aforementioned update, the Filecoin ecosystem shared stats of some of its key performance indicators (KPIs). The number of unique contracts deployed on the recently launched Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) reached 716.
Moreover, there was a substantial growth in new storage deals as the number of storage provider systems went past 3,600.

Crypto NoobsThe crypto world is ever-evolving as new assets are introduced. Although some have posted deep losses over the years, there are assets that have been outperforming the broader markets.
Binance coin (BNB) and ethereum (ETH) are two major cryptocurrencies whose values have remained firm over the years. Their respective platforms have also contributed significantly to the growth of the industry due to their utilities.
Script Network (SCPT) is a decentralized television network and ecosystem that incorporates the features of blockchain and watch-to-earn technology. It has the potential to rival media giants such as Netflix, seeking to improve the television experience for studios, content owners, and users globally.
Script Network: The watch-to-earn platform
The Script Network is a television platform built on the Script blockchain. It possesses several on-chain products, including Script Video NFTs, Script Television, and other decentralized applications (dapps). They are created for the scale within the film and television industries.
The core product is Script Television that features over 30 channels with various production content from documentaries, sports, and films. ScriptGLASS is another essential product. It is a tradable and upgradable non-fungible token (NFT) collection connected to the platform’s watch-to-earn mechanism. Each ScriptGLASS NFT is unique and equipped with attributes that the owner can improve and upgrade. An upgraded ScriptGLASS improves its owner’s watching experience, allowing them to earn more rewards.
Script Network users are offered the opportunity to earn rewards on and off-chain simply by watching television. These rewards are given as special watch-to-earn tokens known as SPAY. The Script Network also features another token, SCPT, the official governance token that enables its holders to participate in the decision-making.
BNB is core to the Binance ecosystem
BNB is one of the major cryptocurrencies today. It is the primary utility token that powers Binance, one of the world’s biggest crypto exchanges. Investors are exploring Binance as BNB has been on an uptrend.
Binance has two coin-burning mechanisms that permanently remove coins from circulation. In the first mechanism, a portion of the tokens spent on transaction fees is burned. The second method is the quarterly burning of the BNB supply. This helps sustain BNB’s value and creates a deflationary effect.
Ethereum promotes smart contract functionality
Ethereum is an open-source blockchain network based on decentralization and smart contract technology principles. The network is powered by its native cryptocurrency, ETH, which facilitates transactions on-chain.
The platform is the pioneer of the decentralized finance (DeFi) market. DeFi protocols use smart contracts, which are programs designed to execute code automatically necessary to fulfill an agreement between several parties. Smart contracts have helped reduce transaction costs, increase transaction reliability, and eliminate the need for intermediaries.
Script Network is focused on changing the television experience for users with its features and decentralized technology.

Crypto NoobsJustin Sun, founder of Tron, has reportedly received a summons to respond to the SEC lawsuit filed on March 22 in the Southern District of New York.
According to The Straits Times, Sun has 21 days to respond to the summons, which was mailed to a residential and office location in Singapore. According to the original SEC filing, Sun is believed to be living in Singapore or Hong Kong.
The SEC charged Sun with “fraudulently manipulating the secondary market for TRX through extensive wash trading.” Meaning that trades were allegedly made without a change in “beneficial ownership.”
Per the SEC’s claim, the distribution and sale of BTT and TRX allegedly required Sun to register the sales with the agency because they were allegedly sold as securities.
The agency also claimed that Sun orchestrated “a scheme to pay celebrities to tout TRX and BTT without disclosing their compensation.”
It also named eight celebrities in its probe, but said that it had settled with those parties — including Lindsay Lohan and Aliaune Thiam, also known as Akon.
Sun initially responded to the claims in March, saying that it’s “just the latest example of actions it has taken against well-known players in the blockchain and crypto space. We believe the complaint lacks merit, and in the meantime will continue building the most decentralized financial system.”
But also noted that he is “eager” to collaborate with regulators and governments “dedicated to establishing transparent guidelines for regulating” the cryptocurrency industry.

Crypto NoobsShiba Inu's metaverse project is set to be partially opened by December 2023.
In an update Tuesday, the Shiba Inu team announced they are "confident that by the end of 2023 users will have the opportunity to explore some of the areas in this fantastic world, build, design, play and develop within it."
However, "SHIB: The Metaverse" will not be complete upon release, with the developers noting "not all areas of the metaverse will be fully completed as it is an ongoing project."
The metaverse, developed in Shibarium, will feature 100,595 plots of land that will be minted by users. Owners of these land plots will be able to generate passive income from their land, collect in-game resources and earn rewards.
Shibarium is the meme coin's Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) scaling solution. The goal is for the network to take over a large portion of the SHIB transactions so that it doesn’t rely solely on Ethereum. The L2 will also reportedly help to minimise transaction fees and increase TPS (transactions per second).
Developers are also planning for players to have their own space where they can build projects.
Users will be able to create their own humanoid dog avatars and explore lands.
Shiba Inu's price initially rose to $0.0000117 following the announcement on Monday, but the token has subsequently fallen 8% to as low as $0.00001071.

Crypto NoobsAI chatbots like ChatGPT have been turning heads worldwide thanks to their human-like ability to discuss any topic.
Nevertheless, Benj Edwards’ report for Ars Technica, published on Thursday (April 6), highlights a major downside: these chatbots can inadvertently spread false yet persuasive information, making them undependable sources of facts and potential contributors to defamation.
Edwards explains that AI chatbots, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, utilize “large language models” (LLMs) to generate responses. LLMs are computer programs trained on vast amounts of text data to read and produce natural language. However, they are prone to errors, commonly called “hallucinations” or “confabulations” in academic circles. Edwards prefers “confabulation,” as it suggests creative but unintentional fabrications.
The Ars Technica article underscores the problem of AI bots generating deceptive, misleading, or defamatory information. Edwards provides examples of ChatGPT falsely accusing a law professor of sexual harassment and wrongly claiming an Australian mayor was convicted of bribery. Despite these drawbacks, ChatGPT is considered an upgrade from GPT-3, as it can decline to answer certain questions or warn of potential inaccuracies.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has admitted ChatGPT’s limitations, tweeting about its “incredible” limitations and the risks of relying on it for crucial matters. Altman also remarked on the chatbot’s simultaneous knowledge and penchant for being “confident and wrong.”
Edwards delves into their workings to comprehend how GPT models like ChatGPT confabulate. Researchers create LLMs like GPT-3 and GPT-4 using “unsupervised learning,” wherein the model learns to predict the next word in a sequence by analyzing vast text data and refining its predictions through trial and error.
ChatGPT differs from its predecessors, as it has been trained on human-written conversation transcripts, Edwards states. OpenAI employed “reinforcement learning from human feedback” (RLHF) to fine-tune ChatGPT, leading to more coherent responses and fewer confabulations. Nonetheless, inaccuracies remain.
Edwards cautions against blindly trusting AI chatbot outputs but acknowledges that technological improvements may change this. Since its launch, ChatGPT has undergone multiple upgrades, enhancing accuracy and its ability to decline to answer questions it cannot address.
Although OpenAI has not directly responded to queries about ChatGPT’s accuracy, Edwards refers to company documents and news reports for insights. OpenAI’s Chief Scientist, Ilya Sutskever, believes that further RLHF training can tackle the hallucination issue. At the same time, Meta’s Chief AI Scientist, Yann LeCun, argues that the current GPT-based LLMs will not resolve the problem.
Edwards also mentions alternative methods to improve LLM accuracy using existing architectures. Bing Chat and Google Bard already utilize web searches to refine their outputs, and a browser-enabled version of ChatGPT is expected to follow suit. Additionally, ChatGPT plugins plan to augment GPT-4’s training data with external sources, like the web and specialized databases. As Edwards points out, this mirrors the accuracy boost a human gains from consulting an encyclopedia.
Lastly, Edwards suggests that a GPT-4-like model could be trained to recognize when it is fabricating information and adjust accordingly. This might involve more advanced data curation and linking training data to “trust” scores, similar to PageRank. Another possibility is fine-tuning the model to be more cautious when less confident in its responses.

Crypto NoobsUnder the Future Finance Act, the German government is pushing for more welcoming regulations for startups working with financial innovation.
The German government is pushing for more welcoming regulations for startups working with financial innovation in the country, according to the newly drafted legislation of the "Future Finance Act" introduced by the finance ministry on April 5.
Key goals of the legislation include capital markets digitalization through the issuance of electronic securities on a blockchain and improved portability of crypto assets. According to a translated version of the draft bill, Germany's "capital market should become more modern and efficient in order to mobilize more private capital for future investments."
Among the government's targets is to create a favorable environment for startups and investors in the country. The legislation reduces the minimum market capital for initial public offerings (IPOs) from 1.25 million euros ($1.37 million) to 1 million euros ($1.1 million) and facilitates investments by institutional players in startups, small businesses, and special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs).
According to local media reports, the new rules would apply to businesses employing up to 500 people and with revenues below 100 million euros ($109 million).
“We want to make Germany the leading location for start-ups and growth companies," German finance minister Christian Lindner said in a statement. "That is why we are improving access to the capital market and making it easier to raise equity. Small and medium-sized companies will also benefit from this.”
The government claims the move would make Germany more attractive to investors and promote a culture of stock market investments. "Startups, growth companies and small and medium-sized companies should have easier access to the capital market," noted the minister.
Germany is a member of the G7, a group of the world's seven biggest democracies. Together, G7 members are working on tougher crypto regulations, which many in the industry believe could stymie innovation and growth. The G7's new agenda is expected to be disclosed at its next meeting in Hiroshima, Japan, which is scheduled for May.

Crypto NoobsAn incredible $3.81 trillion exchanged hands in the crypto market during March, and still that’s the highest only since September.
$1.04 trillion exchanged hands in spot trading volumes, rising 10.8% for the third consecutive month according to CCData, formerly CryptoCompare.
$2.77 trillion was exchanged in derivatives, an increase of 32.6%. Derivatives have now reached a new all time high in market share, 72.7% compared to 69% in February.
Binance dominates the crypto derivatives market, accounting for $1.77 trillion, an increase of 33.9% from February.
OKX comes a distant second at $427 billion, though it has seen a higher increase of 38.4% since February.
Even further down is Wall Street’s CME at about $47 billion in trading volumes. $36 billion in bitcoin futures, an increase of 40%, and $11 billion in eth futures. That makes it the highest trading volumes at CME since May 2022.
The crypto market is now one of the most liquid in the world, with these trading volumes being about 4x the market cap of all cryptos.
Just how real these volumes are is however open to some debate, but CCData says they have “applied more filters to ensure all volumes reported are as truly representative of the market ecosystem as possible.”
The banking collapses last month, which had the effect of both briefly de-pegging USDc and DAI while increasing bitcoin’s price, is one stated reason for the significant rise in volumes. As is the discontinuation of bUSD in February following a Wells Notice by SEC to Paxos.
These volumes have been rising for all of Q1 however, and that is probably mainly because crypto prices have been rising.

Crypto NoobsDogecoin, the beloved cryptocurrency that started as a joke, has once again set the crypto world ablaze with its soaring price, skyrocketing by 26% in the past 24 hours.
The man responsible for this market mayhem? None other than the billionaire entrepreneur and Twitter’s very own hype-man, Elon Musk.
Musk has long been an advocate for the Shiba Inu-themed digital currency, but what did he do this time to cause such a significant spike in Dogecoin’s value?
Could it be another tweet, or did he unveil a groundbreaking development for the crypto community?
What Set Dogecoin Ablaze?
On a seemingly ordinary Monday, Twitter users were in for a surprise when they noticed a new furry face had taken over the platform’s blue bird logo and loading screen. It was none other than the beloved Shiba Inu, the mascot of the popular meme-inspired cryptocurrency.
And just like clockwork, the Dogefather himself tweeted a meme acknowledging the change. This tweet would set off a chain reaction that would send Dogecoin’s value soaring.
The official Dogecoin account couldn’t resist adding its two cents to the conversation, coming up with a response that was pure comedic gold: “Very currency. Wow. Much Coin. How Money. So Crypto.”
As of writing, the current DOGE price stands at $0.0984, according to CoinMarketCap, with a 26.19% increase in the last 24 hours alone. But that’s not all, as the cryptocurrency has seen a remarkable 29% increase over the past seven days and an impressive 35.54% rally over the last 30 days.
Elon Musk Strikes Back With Dogecoin Logo Amidst $258 Billion Lawsuit
The war between Musk and Dogecoin investors has reached a fever pitch, with the latest move coming in the form of a logo change on the social media platform.
Just two days after Musk asked a judge to dismiss a massive $258 billion racketeering lawsuit, accusing him of supporting the meme coin with a pyramid scheme, the platform’s blue bird logo was replaced with the adorable Shiba Inu associated with Dogecoin.
The lawsuit, which Musk and Tesla’s lawyers have called a “fanciful work of fiction,” accuses the tech mogul of using his Twitter account to manipulate Dogecoin’s value through his “often silly tweets.”
However, with the Dogefather’s track record of unpredictability and penchant for trolling, no one knows for sure what’s next in this high-stakes battle.
Will Dogecoin’s value continue to soar, or will the lawsuit ultimately prove victorious? One thing’s for certain: the battle lines have been drawn, and the stakes have never been higher.

Crypto NoobsThe number of people who plan to hold onto the popular meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin for the long haul has been growing gradually since the year 2023, according to the most recent data.
Despite a modest 4% gain over the past week, IntoTheBlock data shows that over 60% of Dogecoin holders are making a profit on their investments, while roughly 34% have lost money.
But, the most interesting discovery made by the analytics organization is the growing number of holders who are in it for the long haul and now possess tens of billions of DOGE.
Hoarding Dogecoin
These “hodlers,” who have kept the crypto asset for more than a year, reportedly have approximately 45 billion DOGE, worth more than $3.76 billion at the time of writing, in their wallets.
Based on price monitoring by crypto market tracking site CoinMarketCap, DOGE is trading at $0.0776, up a little over 5% in the last week. The coin has been up more than 3% in the bi-weekly timeframe, more than twice compared to its monthly turnout, data from Coingecko shows.
The DOGE rate has returned to the $0.07605 local support level, having risen somewhat today. If the closure occurs around that level, there may be enough momentum for a drop to the $0.075 area.
According to IntoTheBlock, the number of DOGE held by long-term holders is at its highest point since October 2021, when Dogecoin was trading at approximately the $0.30 mark.
The total number of DOGE wallets has reached an all-time high of 3.18 million, with investors comprising 74.66% of the total, it said.
Will DOGE Breach $1?
With a 7% increase to $0.082 on Sunday, many are wondering if the meme coin may finally cross the $1 barrier this week. From its weekly low of $0.071 on March 28 to its high of $0.085 on April 5, the coin increased by about 20%.
The recent price increase in DOGE has rekindled investor interest and prompted inquiries as to whether or not the cryptocurrency can achieve new benchmarks in the days ahead.
Investing groups make up approximately 75% of all Dogecoin wallets, according to statistics from IntoTheBlock, which shows that the number of DOGE hodlers has reached an all-time high of 3.18 million addresses.
Meanwhile, Dogecoin miners added roughly 360 million coins to their holdings in the previous month. The blockchain forensics platform disclosed that the total number of bitcoin held by miners rose from 4.4 billion on March 1 to 4.76 billion on March 30.
Dogecoin miners now have in their possession around $357 million at the current price of DOGE. That’s about 3.5% of the coin’s total cryptocurrency market cap.

Crypto NoobsAccording to renowned analyst Ali Martinez, citing data from the Santiment portal, Shiba Inu's network activity has set a record high since the beginning of the year. Shiba Inu reportedly experienced its highest daily surge of active addresses in 2023 at the end of March, when nearly 36,000 SHIB addresses transacted on the network.
Interestingly, the surge in interaction with Shiba Inu tokens on the network occurred just before the SHIB price breakout after a long accumulation and a decline in volatility. After two weeks of trading in a range set by the 7.8% fall on March 15, the SHIB price exploded in action on the last days of March and showed a rise of more than 9% after.
One would think that it was about insiders or whales anticipating the coming price action and capitalizing on it. However, as IntoTheBlock's in-depth statistics show, the vast majority of transactions made during the surge in network activity were in the $10-$100 range. There were also 578 transactions involving Shiba Inu tokens worth between $10,000 and $100,000. There were 51 truly big deals with SHIB during this period. Of these, 50 were for amounts between $100,000 and $1 million and only one was for an amount higher than that but less than $10 million.

Crypto NoobsThe Chiliz [CHZ] network has achieved an important milestone as part of its global expansion journey. The network announced on 30 March that it was now licensed to operate as a virtual asset services provider in Spain.
According to the official announcement, Chiliz was awarded the license by the Bank of Spain. The license will allow the sports-oriented decentralized network to operate a crypto asset exchange in Spain within the existing regulatory framework. In other words, the license will allow socios.com to explore more opportunities within the industry.
Chiliz views Spain as a strategic market because of its already existing strong ties with top football clubs in Spain. Also, Socios.com has an office in the country since 2021.
The network’s CEO, Alexandre Dreyfus, described the approval as a key part of providing consumer protection in the region.
Will the announcement influence CHZ demand characteristics?
The new regulatory framework may not necessarily have an immediate impact on CHZ’s price or demand. This is because it will take a while for socios.com to create more products, including the exchange, which will probably fuel CHZ demand.
Chiliz’s native cryptocurrency CHZ achieved an overall bullish performance in the last five days. It exchanged hands at $0.12 at press time, which means it is still within the same range where it has been trading since mid-March.
CHZ’s RSI hovered within the neutral level, indicating a lack of significant shift, especially in the last 24 hours after the announcement.
Furthermore, assessing the cryptocurrency’s exchange flows revealed a large spike in exchange inflows on 28 March. However, exchange flows remained low after the announcement. This confirms that the market reaction to the regulatory green light in Spain was largely subdued.
A weekly overview of address activity reveals that daily active addresses peaked on 28 March and have since tapered out. Meanwhile, CHZ’s MVRV ratio achieved a healthy weekly pivot and peaked at a new seven-day high in the last 24 hours at the time of writing.
The high MVRV ratio confirms that most CHZ holders are still holding and not selling. Chiliz transaction volume also remained relatively low at press time, indicating a lack of excitement.
