A crucial piece for Real Madrid would be close to returning to the pitch; his conservative recovery could lead to him being available for the final part of LaLiga and the Champions League.

Amid injuries and bad news, Real Madrid seems to "see the light" with one of its players, ahead of Matchday 29 of LaLiga. Eder Militao, the Brazilian defender, returned to training alongside the first team so he could be available for Alvaro Arbeloa at the end of the season.

Although the Brazilian defender was seen in Thursday's practice with the white-clad team, he is not yet 100% recovered, so his return to the pitch will still have to wait.

However, with the process almost complete, the player could be closer than expected, as his evolution is progressing as well as possible, and he appears to be improving physically.

Currently, Real Madrid's defensive line is one of the most affected by injuries. Although they recently recovered Trent Alexander-Arnold, they still have significant losses heading into the Champions League quarterfinals and the close of the Spanish league.

During the LaLiga Matchday 15 match against Celta Vigo, the player returned after a long absence due to physical discomfort. Unfortunately for him and the team, he had to be substituted after 25 minutes, having suffered a rupture of the proximal tendon of the biceps femoris in his left leg.

After the injury, the player made the decision not to go under the knife, in order to have a "conservative" recovery, and that it could still put him in the race to be in the World Cup.

After four months out, everything seems to indicate that the Brazilian's plan worked perfectly, because with the recovery time completed, it is a matter of details for him to return to Arbeloa's team squad.

The big unknown now revolves around whether this premature return will not end up taking its toll at the least opportune moment. By choosing the path of conservative treatment over surgery, the defender put all his chips on one play: to arrive in time for the final stretch of the Champions League and not lose his place in the World Cup squad.

If his body responds, Arbeloa will have recovered a key player for the squad; otherwise, Madrid runs the risk of losing its defensive bulwark for a much longer period just when the success or failure of the entire season is being decided.
