The Europeans are leading the Ryder Cup and winning in every major statistical category.
They are even leading the tournament in getting even with heckling the crowd.
Ireland's Rory McIlroy, of Team Europe gave it back to hecklers who were giving him the business as he was approaching a shot on the 16th fairway.
McIlroy yelled at some of the fans at Bethpage Black by , saying, “Guys, shut the f–k up,” after the fans started shouting.
“I don’t mind them having a go at us,” McIlroy said of the U.S. fans to NBC Sports. “Like that’s to be expected. I mean, that’s what an away Ryder Cup is. Whenever they are still doing it while you are over the ball and trying to hit your shot, that’s the tough thing. You know, look, in between shots, say whatever you want to me. That’s totally fine. But give us the respect to let us hit shots, and give us the same chance that the Americans have, I guess.”
