Pierre and Edmonds ignited a second-half surge, propelling TCU to a decisive Big 12 victory through relentless offense and clutch scoring.

TCU delivered one of its most complete offensive performances of the season Saturday night, pulling away in the second half for a 97-90 win over Baylor at Foster Pavilion in Waco in a Big 12 showdown that featured pace, physicality, and shot-making on both ends of the floor.

The Horned Frogs leaned on a breakout night from Jayden Pierre, who poured in a career-high 25 points while reaching the 1,000-point milestone for his collegiate career.

Pierre was especially effective after halftime, scoring 14 of his points in the second half as TCU seized control of a game that was tied at the break. His ability to score off the dribble and finish through contact gave Baylor consistent problems once TCU found its rhythm.

Xavier Edmonds was just as impactful, finishing with 23 points and serving as the closer down the stretch. Edmonds sparked a key second-half surge, scoring five points during a decisive 7-0 run that pushed the Horned Frogs’ lead to 17 with seven minutes remaining.

When Baylor made its final push, Edmonds calmly sealed the game at the free-throw line, knocking down six straight attempts in the final minute.

Offensively, TCU was efficient and aggressive.

The Horned Frogs shot 52 percent from the field and an impressive 46 percent from three-point range, numbers that reflect both ball movement and confident shot selection.

They also attacked the interior relentlessly, scoring 44 points in the paint and consistently forcing Baylor’s defenders into foul trouble. TCU finished 26-of-32 at the free-throw line, a crucial edge in a game played at a fast tempo.

Baylor didn’t go quietly.

Isaac Williams and Tounde Yessoufou each scored 21 points, providing steady offense throughout the night before fouling out late.

Cameron Carr added a strong all-around effort with 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists, helping keep the Bears within striking distance despite TCU’s hot shooting.

One of the more impressive aspects of the win for the TCU Horned Frogs was overcoming adversity.

Leading scorer David Punch, who averages 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds, was scratched late due to illness. Rather than shrinking their rotation, the Horned Frogs responded with balance, energy, and disciplined execution.

For the Baylor Bears, the loss underscores how thin the margin is in Big 12 play.

The Bears showed offensive firepower but struggled to slow TCU’s penetration and couldn’t capitalize on late chances to complete the comeback.

With a tough matchup looming against Houston, TCU will look to carry forward the confidence from a night when scoring balance, efficiency, and late-game composure all aligned ... a formula that can travel well in conference play.
