Embarrassing.
Inexcusable.
Unbelievable.
Yet somehow, here we are.
Back-to-back losses to Oklahoma.
AT HOME.
On HOMECOMING.
Two straight years of getting punched in the mouth by the same team.
Yet this time, in our stadium. In Bryant-Denny, a place that used to be feared, a place teams used to walk into knowing exactly what was coming.
But this? This wasn’t Alabama football.
Not even close.
Let it sink in: Alabama, a program built on tradition, toughness, pride, intensity, and preparation, just got outplayed, outworked, and out-coached on our own field.
No excuses. No sugarcoating.
This is not the standard.
This is not who we are.
This is not what this program was handed to Kalen DeBoer to become.
And yes, I’ll say it plainly: Kalen DeBoer did NOT have this team prepared.
Not mentally.
Not physically.
Not emotionally.
Not even fundamentally.
Nothing about this looked like Alabama football.
Where was the urgency? Where was the fight?
Where was the attention to detail? The thing this program used to take so much pride in?
Oklahoma came in hungry, focused, and played with desperation and fire. Meanwhile, we played like showing up in a crimson jersey was enough.
It wasn’t.
It’s never been enough.
And somehow, we needed this reminder. Unfortunately, twice in one season.
Losing a game happens.
It’s football.
But losing like this? Losing back-to-back matchups to the same opponent?
Losing on Homecoming in front of alumni, legends, seniors, and fans who have poured their hearts into this program for decades?
This isn’t just a loss. This is a statement, and not the kind you ever want said about Alabama.
This fanbase shows up.
This state shows up.
Alabama fans live and breathe this team. We fill that stadium. We travel. We support. We believe; every single week.
And all we ask for in return is a team that fights with the same passion we pour into them.
Right now, something is missing.
Something is off.
Something in that locker room, on that sideline, in that preparation is not aligning with the standards that built this dynasty brick by brick.
This can’t become who we are.
This can’t be acceptable.
This can’t be brushed off as “just a rough stretch.”
No.
This demands accountability. Urgency. Fire. A complete reset in attitude, preparation, and execution.
Figure it out.
Fast.
Because the Alabama standard isn’t just a slogan. It’s not a hashtag. It’s not a memory. It’s supposed to be the heartbeat of this program.
What we watched tonight?
That wasn’t Alabama. And it sure better not be the new normal.
Because if we play like this against Auburn?
Oh boy, we're going to be a 3 loss team again this season.
Roll Tide anyway, though.
Because win or lose, this fanbase doesn’t quit.
But it’s time for this team to match that same energy.
