D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai ignite the ground game, leading Chicago to a pivotal road victory and securing a winning season.

The Chicago Bears had to fight to keep their spot atop the NFC North after the Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions 31-24 on Thanksgiving.

The Bears faced their toughest test yet, taking on the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on the road at Lincoln Financial Field. However, the Bears were up to the task and won 24-15, improving to 9-3.

The game had significant NFC playoff implications, with the Eagles holding down the No. 2 seed and the Bears at No. 3. With the win, Chicago took the No. 2 seed from Philadelphia.

D'Andre Swift got the scoring going towards the end of the first quarter, on a three-yard rushing touchdown.

Points were scarce in the second quarter, but Chicago was able to keep Philadelphia out of the endzone, with both teams hitting a field goal before halftime to make it 10-3.

Chicago got off to a good start in the second half. Kevin Byard intercepted Jalen Hurts on the Eagles' second drive of the second half, increasing his interception number on the year to six.

It was only a matter of time before Philadelphia scored a touchdown, however. Hurts found A.J. Brown for a 33-yard touchdown pass, but Jake Elliott missed the extra point as Chicago held on with a 10-9 lead.

Momentum appeared to shift towards the Eagles on the Bears' ensuing drive. Caleb Williams tried to get a screen pass to Kyle Monangai, but it was tipped and intercepted by Jalyx Hunt, giving the Eagles excellent field position at the Bears' 36-yard line.

It wasn't with Philadelphia for long, though. The Eagles attempted their signature tush push on 3rd-and-1 at the Bears' 12-yard line, but fumbled, and it was recovered by none other than Nahshon Wright.

Wright has been going back and forth with Byard for the NFL's lead in interceptions this season. He had five interceptions coming into the game and secured his third fumble recovery of the year.

Wright literally wrestled the ball of Hurts' hands.

The strategy was clear for Chicago: run the football and keep it away from Philadelphia. Swift and Monangai took it to the Philadelphia run defense, with both accounting for over 100 yards on the ground.

The Bears ran 85 plays, compared to the Eagles' 51. The Bears also had the ball nearly 40 minutes, while the Eagles had it for 20 minutes and 42 seconds.

Monangai scored a touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter to make it 17-9. Cole Kmet caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Williams as the Bears increased their lead to 24-9, as Eagles' fans began heading to the exits.

The Eagles made things interesting late, scoring with 3:10 left, but decided to go for a two-point conversion instead of taking the extra point that would've made it a one-score game at 24-15.

With the win, Chicago secured its first winning season since 2018 and has a huge divisional contest with Green Bay up next on Dec. 7. Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m. CT on Fox.
