Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams put his name into the NFL record books in his second season in the league.
The Bears cruised to a 31-3 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Williams finished with 242 passing yards and two touchdowns.
One of his best plays of the game was his second touchdown pass to receiver D.J. Moore. Williams made a throw on the run and fit the pass in between a pair of Cleveland defenders as Moore caught it in the back of the end zone.
He had a great game on Sunday, but also set a new NFL record for the fewest interceptions within 1,000 passing attempts. Williams has thrown 12 interceptions in his NFL career so far.
Williams now has 6,691 passing yards, 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his career.
He had to endure a lot as a rookie, including losing his former head coach, Matt Eberflus, during the regular season. Eberflus was fired after that 23-20 Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions. He also had multiple offensive coordinators after the firing.
He is continuing to improve each week under current head coach Ben Johnson, and he will need to keep doing so given how close the NFC playoff race is.
The Los Angeles Rams kept the top spot with their win over the Lions. However, there was some movement at the No. 2 and No. 4 seeds.
The Green Bay Packers lost 34-26 to the Denver Broncos and dropped to the No. 7 seed. Chicago moved up to No. 2 and retook the NFC North division lead. The Carolina Panthers were the No. 4 seed but are now a bubble team after losing 20-17 to the New Orleans Saints.
The Philadelphia Eagles remained the No. 3 seed, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the No. 4 seed once again after retaking the lead in the NFC South.
Were the Bears now in possession of a first-round bye again, Saturday's game with the Packers is even more crucial than it was going in. Chicago needs just two wins to clinch the NFC North and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
It won't be an easy task, as Green Bay won the first meeting 28-21 at Lambeau Field. The Bears fell short of beating the Packers after throwing an interception on the Packers' 14-yard line.
Saturday's game kicks off at 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC.
