A surprising defensive force leads the Bears' charge, snagging interceptions and solidifying the secondary amidst key injuries. His impact is undeniable.

Many things have changed for the Chicago Bears from last season to now, but there is one player who isn't getting enough credit during this hot streak.

Caleb Williams has made improvements thanks to the investment in the offensive line this offseason. The addition of Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman and Jonah Jackson is paying off, as Williams has been sacked the fourth-fewest times (17).

There's another hero that not many fans are talking about, and it's time he got the credit he deserves.

Nahshon Wright has been on fire in his first season with the franchise. He has a league-leading five interceptions, and has also accounted for 49 total tackles, three tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries.

He is tied for the most interceptions in the NFL this season with teammate Kevin Byard.

Wright made an incredible catch for his fifth interception of the year in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wright's play could not have come at a better time, with the injuries to Jaylon Johnson (groin) and Kyler Gordon (calf). Johnson hasn't played since Week 2, and Gordon was placed on the injured reserve ahead of Week 8.

While he's doing this in his first season with the Bears, Chicago will wish they'd had him much sooner.

His NFL career began with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021. Wright played in 32 games from 2021-23 with three starts, recording 37 total tackles and one interception.

After three seasons in Dallas, he joined the Minnesota Vikings in 2024 but played only one game.

His breakout season with the Bears has earned him plenty of playing time, as he has appeared in all 11 games with 10 starts.

While Wright's breakout year could create a dilemma for Chicago once Johnson and Gordon are both back, it's a great problem to have either way.

Wright's college career started at Laney College in 2018 before he transferred to Oregon State in 2019. He was taken in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Cowboys.

Maybe opposing quarterbacks will learn to stop throwing Wright's way after he has now recorded interceptions in two consecutive games.

Wright and the Bears' secondary will go up against the likes of Philadelphia Eagles receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith in their next game on Black Friday.

The Bears hold the No. 3 seed in the NFC, and the Eagles are No. 2. Kickoff will be at 2 p.m. CT on Prime Video.
