The Chicago Bears are preparing to face rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
It will be the second time Chicago's defense has gone up against a quarterback from this year's draft class in 2025. The Bears took on Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants earlier this year and won 24-20.
Sanders now has three starts under his belt. In his most recent game, he finished with 364 passing yards, three touchdowns and one interception in a 31-29 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
Caleb Williams is in his second NFL season and has 2,908 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions. Sanders has 769 passing yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions.
While Williams is the more experienced quarterback, FS1's Chris Broussard predicted that Sanders would outplay the Bears quarterback on a recent edition of "First Things First."
"Shedeur Sanders, coach, will outplay Caleb Williams," Broussard said. "Now the Bears will win, but because Shedeur will be facing a much weaker defense. Caleb obviously facing one of the best defenses in the league. Myles Garrett going for that sack record. So, he's gonna be under duress, Shedeur's gonna outplay him. Caleb's not thrown for 300 yards in a game this season, Shedeur did it in his third start."
One of Broussard's main points was about Sanders and Williams' stats as starters in 2025. Their stats in certain areas are closer than you think, but it's still questionable to say that Sanders will outperform Williams.
Sanders has a 94.1 passer rating, 57.5 completion percentage, 5.7 touchdown percentage, 8.3 interception percentage and averages 240.7 passing yards per game.
Meanwhile, Williams has an 87.2 passer rating, 57.8 completion percentage, 4.4 touchdown percentage, 1.4 interception percentage and 223.7 passing yards per game.
Broussard also believed that edge rusher Myles Garrett would affect Williams. Garrett is chasing the NFL single-season sack record set by former Giants' defensive end Michael Strahan, which was tied by Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt in 2021.
At the same time, that may not be the case, as the Bears have allowed 20 sacks, which is the fifth fewest in the league.
Against the Packers and Micah Parsons, the Bears allowed just one sack, and it was to Kingsley Enagbare.
We'll see if Broussard's crazy prediction comes true, as the Bears and Browns face off at Soldier Field on Sunday at noon CT on Fox.
