The Chicago Bears had three players make the Pro Bowl on Tuesday.
Safety Kevin Byard III, center Drew Dalman and guard Joe Thuney were announced as the only Bears who made it.
Last season, the only Bears player to receive a Pro Bowl selection was cornerback Jaylon Johnson. Johnson also went in 2023.
Much to the disappointment of Bears' fans, this means that breakout cornerback Nahshon Wright doesn't get to go. Green Bay Packers and Bears fans don't agree on much, but even they know that Wright deserved to be in the Pro Bowl.
Defensive end Micah Parsons went on X to voice his disapproval of the decision. Parsons made the Pro Bowl after recording 12.5 sacks, 41 total tackles and 12 TFLs. He tore his ACL in the 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos and is out for the year.
"Nahshone Wright getting snubbed for first team Pro Bowl is crazy!!" Parsons said.
Wright has been a bright spot in what has been a very injured secondary for the Bears this season. He is second in the NFL with five interceptions, sitting just behind his teammate Byard (6). Wright also has 67 total tackles, three TFLs and two forced fumbles.
Johnson missed a considerable amount of time due to a groin injury he suffered in Week 2 that kept him out until Week 13.
Kyler Gordon has had a plethora of injuries. It all started with a hamstring issue that forced him to miss the first four games of the season. He then returned in time for the Washington Commanders game but was placed back on injured reserve with a calf injury after two games.
Like Johnson, Gordon was activated off the IR ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles game. However, in Week 14, he suffered a groin injury in pregame warmups and is back on IR.
The crazy thing about Wright is that this is just his first season with Chicago. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 and spent three seasons there. Last season he was with the Minnesota Vikings and has found a new home with the Bears in 2025.
While it's tough that Wright wasn't voted to the Pro Bowl, the good news is that if he stays on this trajectory, he will get another opportunity for sure.
Next up for the Bears are the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is at 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC and Peacock.
