The Denver Broncos have an exciting matchup ahead in Week 11 when they host the rival Kansas City Chiefs Sunday.
The story of Denver’s 8-2 start this season has been the outstanding defense keeping the team in games long enough for the offense to scratch out a win. The dynamic Broncos defense leads the National Football League in sacks (46) and is third in yards allowed per game (270.7).
However, the defense will need to operate against a strong Chiefs offense without star cornerback Pat Surtain II, linebacker Alex Singleton and linebacker Jonah Elliss.

For Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, the Broncos now have ruled out these players:
🏈JK Dobbins (foot)
🏈Pat Surtain (pec)
🏈Alex Singleton (illness)
🏈Jonah Elliss (hamstring)
Surtain is dealing with a pectoral strain that he suffered during the Broncos’ Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Singleton was ruled out with illness and recently underwent surgery for testicular cancer last week after a random drug test came back irregular. Luckily, Singleton’s cancerous tumor was detected early and removed. There is no timetable for Singleton’s return, but he believes he will return in the near future.
Elliss suffered a hamstring injury early in the second half and did not return to the game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football in Week 10.
Denver got dealt brutal news on the offensive side of the ball as well. Veteran running back J.K. Dobbins was injured by an illegal hip-drop tackle Thursday night and left the game in the third quarter. He later returned to close out the game but has been ruled out this week with a foot injury.
It gets worse.
Dobbins’ foot injury is believed to be significant and he will reportedly be out for the foreseeable future, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. Dobbins is weighing his options and there isn’t a final determination, but a stint on injured reserve is a possibility.
That is a huge blow to a Broncos offense that has struggled with consistency. Dobbins has been the most consistent offensive player and is fifth in rushing yards (772), averaging five yards per carry.
Rookie RJ Harvey has performed well in his first season with limited touches, scoring six total touchdowns (tied-second among rookies). He has done most of his damage through the air, logging 25 receptions for 175 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground, he has 50 carries for 214 yards and two scores.
The Broncos will have to take down a tough Chiefs team without four key starters. To make matters worse for Denver, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is almost unbeatable after a bye week (22-4 lifetime record).
