The Cleveland Browns made their first major decision of the offseason, choosing veteran offensive coordinator Todd Monken to be their 19th non-interim head coach in franchise history.
Now the real work begins, as Monken will work to fill out the rest of his coaching staff in all three phases. It's unclear at this stage if Jim Schwartz will be part of that equation. He is still under contract with the organization for two more years, but according to reports, left the Browns' facility extremely miffed by the team selecting Monken over him for the job.
If the two 59-year-olds can sit down and hash things out, perhaps there's a world where the duo can coexist on the same staff. For now, that remains a big question mark.
In the meantime, Monken is underway filling out other key positions on his staff, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Follow along with all of Cleveland's coaching staff additions here:
George Warhop, O-line Coach: Warhop was one of the first confirmed hires of Monken's staff. He's spent 30 years as an offensive line coach in the NFL, including a stint with the Browns between 2009-2013. He's worked with Monken at two previous stops, first in Tampa Bay from 2016-2018, and then again in Baltimore these past two years.
Warhop first stepped into the role with the Ravens under unfortunate circumstances, following the hospitalization of Joe D'Alessandris in August of 2024. Upon D'Alessandris tragically passing away, Warhop was named offensive line coach for the remainder of the season, then retained the role in 2025.
Travis Switzer, Offensive Coordinator: Switzer also joins Monken from the Ravens coaching staff. He was the run game coordinator under Monken the last three years, but has spent his entire coaching tenure with Baltimore, starting out as an administrative assistant, and working his way up through various roles. This will be his first time serving as an OC, though.
Switzer is an Akron alum, where he was an offensive lineman from 2011-2014.
Danny Breyer, Pass Game Coordinator: Another Akron alum, Breyer is also expected to follow Monken from Baltimore to Cleveland, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. He spent the last three seasons with the Ravens with Monken, two of which were in the role of offensive assistant. He worked very closely with tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely during his time in Baltimore.
Mike Bajakian, Quarterback Coach: Bajakian has some history with Monken from their time together in Tampa Bay from 2016-2018, where he served in the same role under Monken, who was OC. That was also Bajakian's last job in the NFL as he's bounced around between the college ranks and the NFL. Most recently, he was an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UMass this past fall.
Jeff Blasko, Tight End Coach: Cleveland.com was the first to report that Blasko is expected to join the offensive staff as a tight end coach, pending a finalized contract. He worked as an assistant o-line coach for the Browns in 2019 when Monken was OC on Freddie Kitchens' staff.
Bobby Johnson, Assistant O-line Coach: Johnson comes to Cleveland from Washington, having spent two years as the Commanders' offensive line coach. He held the same role with the Giants from 2022-2023 and the Bills from 2019-2021.
Christian Jones, Wide Receivers Coach: Monken tabbed a remaining member of Kevin Stefanski's staff for his wide receivers coach, as Jones transitions from Cleveland's tight end coach in 2025, to take on a new role. He spent the previous three seasons with the Giants, first as an offensive assistant in 2022 and then as assistant quarterbacks coach from 2023-24.
Duce Staley, Running Backs Coach: Like Jones, Staley will stick around and remain in his role as running back coach, which he's held the last two seasons. Staley is one of the most respected position coaches in the league. With his guidance, rookie running back Quinshon Judkins produced an impressive first season, which saw him rack up 827 yards and 7 touchdowns in 14 games.
Byron Storer, Special Teams Coordinator: Multiple reports shared the hiring of Storer, which the Browns then confirmed. The 41-year-old spent the last four seasons working under Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia, with whom he also worked alongside during a four-year stint with the Raiders from 2018-2021. This is his first time being an outright special teams coach.
