The Cleveland Browns are battling more than the cold in the Windy City when they take the field against the Chicago Bears. Friday revealed a pretty lengthy injury list that ruled out seven players before the two teams even arrived at Soldier Field on Sunday. An eighth was added on Saturday with young guard Zak Zinter being downgraded from questionable to out with a back injury.
It's not all bad news on the injury front, though, for Cleveland. Veteran guard Joel Bitonio was questionable entering the weekend, but cleared to play ahead of kickoff. Bitonio missed two days of practice this week due to nagging back and knee ailments, but wound up a limited participant on Friday. It's a similar routine Bitonio has followed previously when playing through injuries.
Also active is wide receiver Cedric Tillman, who took a massive hit in last week's lost to the Tennessee Titans and spend the week working through the concussion protocol. He was also dealing with a rib injury, but is all clear to play.
Others on the questionable list included rookie DT Mason Graham, who has battled a rib injury the last two weeks, but will play through it for a second straight week. WR Malachi Corley is also active after clearing the concussion protocol.
Cleveland's lengthy list of injured players makes up the bulk of their inactive list for Week 15. It's a group headlined by star cornerback Denzel Ward, who was battling a calf injury all week and ultimately wasn't cleared to play by the end of the week of practice.
The Browns full inactive list includes:
G Zak Zinter
CB Denzel Ward
RB Dylan Sampson
G Wyatt Teller
T Jack Conklin
TE David Njoku
DT Adin Huntington
The Bears, meanwhile, learned that young standout wide receiver Rome Odunze will return to action this week after missing last week's game against the Packers with a foot injury. He entered Sunday as questionable, but is officially active.
Chicago's full inactive list features:
QB Tyson Bagent
RB Travis Homer
DL Dominique Robinson
WR Jahdae Walker
LB Ruben Hyppolite II
DL Jonathan Ford
The Browns and Bears kickoff at 1 p.m. eastern from Soldier Field.
