The Cowboys are 6-6-1 and could miss out on the playoffs, but if they do, can they still have a successful season?

The Dallas Cowboys' 2025 season is teetering on the brink as we enter Week 15.

At 6-6-1, and needing to win all of their last four games, and hope that the Philadelphia Eagles stumble if they are to win the division and make the playoffs, there isn't too much margin for error.

Granted, missing the playoffs isn't just a thought; it's a real possibility, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer stated earlier in the week that, in his mind, for it to be a successful season, the playoffs need to be achieved.

That is a fair pass mark.

But for receiver CeeDee Lamb, does he think the year can be a success even if Dallas misses the postseason?

"Yeah, it can,” Lamb said. “Being a successful season, you get better. I feel like for us as a team, we've gotten better, we've learned, we've gotten over a hump in this building, and we all know what it is. As a group, we gel together, we've gotten better. We build great bonds, and we set ourselves up for the future."

So, Lamb seems to be rather confident about where this ship is headed under Schottenheimer, and we aren't even at the one-year mark yet.

Granted, after a shaky start, things have picked up after the bye with Dallas going 3-1 after starting 3-5-1.

As Lamb says, the team has gotten better.

But he wants to make one thing clear: just because he's saying the season is still a success without playoff football, it doesn't mean he doesn't want it; however, he makes it clear that regardless, he's happy where that arrow is pointing.

"That doesn't count us out, but if we don't make it, that's cool," Lamb added. "We know for sure what we got. We know what we're dealing with in the future. So, just getting ourselves together, continuing to build this brotherhood, fight for each other, fight for one another, fight for our families, and let's play the game that we love together and enjoy it."

Everyone will have a different answer as to what constitutes a successful season for the Cowboys, and in truth, getting to the playoffs would be the best-case scenario.

But given what has already transpired this season, and what the franchise has gone through to where it is now, you could make the case that this season, to an extent, has already been a successful one.
