FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb experienced an uptick here inside The Star on Wednesday toward meeting the plan for him to play this week on "Sunday Night Football.''
We were able to see the All-Pro receiver on the field here at team HQ in the early going at practice before we got the official word that he earned a "limited'' designation for the day.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Lamb is "progressing nicely'' and added, "I feel good about that'' regarding Lamb crossing the necessary protocol thresholds to return to the field.
All of this marks yet another an indication that he is working through his concussion issue and that he is on track to participate in Sunday’s game against the visiting Minnesota Vikings ... as has been the “blessed’’ Lamb’s stated goal.
Lamb was diagnosed with a concussion in last Thursday’s 44-30 loss to the Lions.
In that game, he had six catches for 121 yards before landing on his head with 12:42 remaining in the third quarter while trying to make a spectacular end-zone catch.
For the year, Lamb has 57 receptions for 865 yards and three touchdowns in his 10 games.
In other injury news, as the 6-6-1 Cowboys cling to their slim playoff hopes ...
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (hamstring) is also listed as getting limited work after missing last week’s game.
Left tackle Tyler Guyton (ankle) and safety Malik Hooker (personal) did not practice.
Tight end Jake Ferguson (calf), fullback Hunter Luepke (hip), cornerback Shavon Revel (knee) and safety Donovan Wilson (knee) were limited. ... as was cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) - though his story is being delivered in a rather cryptic package.
Schottenheimer said Diggs is still in the "ramp-up period. … I know he wants to play. Ultimately, he needs to be able to everything the right way.''
