Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb was much-maligned after his trio of drops plagued him in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
With George Pickens stepping up and, for some, announcing himself as Dallas' No. 1 weapon, there were going to be a lot of eyes on CeeDee against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dak Prescott, Lamb himself, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer all stated confidence heading into the Thanksgiving Day game that the All-Pro would bounce back, and boy did he.
What happened in Dallas' 31-28 win on Thanksgiving?
Seven catches for 112 yards, which included a 52-yard bomb, a touchdown, and countless defensive penalties from Chiefs corner Trent McDuffie as CeeDee had him in a blender all game.
And when asked about Lamb's game, Prescott wasn't the least bit surprised.
"I told you,” a smiling Prescott said. “It's the way the guy's wired, that's what greatness looks like. You're going to have days that you're not proud of, that aren't to your standard, especially when your standard is as high as it is when you're CeeDee Lamb.
"It's no surprise that he went out there and did what he did, and obviously in the yards, the catches, the touchdown, but also drawing the penalties and just being unstoppable.”
Lamb was unstoppable, and the All-Pro had a nice little told you so moment to all of those who doubted him as he ripped apart the Chiefs' defense.
Now, Lamb has to maintain the rage because if the 6-5-1 Cowboys are to make a run and get into the playoffs, he will need to be front and center of the fight back. ... re-starting Thursday at Detroit.
No more drops, just elite-level play week after week, and we know he can do it; he's shown it before, and the Chiefs game was the ideal way to get himself back into a groove.
Because while having Pickens in god-mode down the stretch is good, when you add Lamb in this sort of mood, that's nightmare fuel for defenses.
Dak wasn't surprised in CeeDee's game, and neither were we.
