Micah Parsons sheds light on Trevon Diggs' perplexing injuries, fueling speculation about the star cornerback's future with the Cowboys.

There’s been a lot of theories and ambiguous comments made during the curious case of Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback Trevon Diggs’ injuries. At first, it was an odd concussion he received at home, then an added knee injury that landed him on injured reserve prior to Week 8.

Now, former Cowboys star and close friend of Diggs Micah Parsons have chimed in with his thoughts after being asked by Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports

“Honestly, I feel like they f***ed my dog over, you know what I mean?” Parsons told Epstein from the postgame locker room after his Green Bay Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. “He’s coming off a catastrophic knee injury and I just didn't think they did right by him. He didn't participate all camp and he's going out there playing Week 1 and 2. I just don't think you do that to a player like that.”.

“And the type of knee injury he had, they forced him out there," Parsons continued. "He has no reps really. He’s telling me he was in warmup phase during Week 1. Even with the ramp-up, I just feel like you just don't do that.”

It’s important to again note that these thoughts weren’t given unprompted and were only verbalized after Parsons was asked about the situation. While it’s easy to look at this quote as sour grapes and dismiss them, there may be a grain of truth within the pillar of salt that should be taken with them.

With Diggs not having participated during camp, should they have sat him in Week 1? Do we know if Diggs verbalized these concerns to the team before the season, or is he pointing to it now as a form of revisionist history now that he’s struggled on the field this season?

It’s hard to know for sure, and there seems to be a good bit of “he said she said” going on. All we know for sure is that, after being placed on IR, Diggs will have to miss at least three more games now that he missed Week 8.

With Dallas having a bye in Week 10, that means Diggs will be first eligible to return for the Cowboys game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving. If Dallas has fallen out of contention by then though, and the relationship is truly as irreparable as some think it is, the question needs to be asked: has Trevon Diggs played his last game with a star on his helmet?
