Diggs declares himself ready for Sunday, but whispers surround his Cowboys future and a potential roster shakeup.

FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs has announced that he expects to play Sunday night against the visiting Minnesota Vikings following his two-month absence due to both a concussion and a knee issue.

Problem is, the Cowboys aren't exactly saying the same thing as the two-time Pro Bowler is now speaking out not only about his immediate availability but also on his future in Dallas.

"I'm ready ... I feel like I got reps this week, got a lot of practice here and, yeah, good week,'' said Diggs on Friday from here at The Star in broadcasting his readiness.

The Cowboyd say they will make a decision whether to move him up from injured reserve Saturday while also having to create a spot on the 53-man roster.

Oh, and what about a future roster spot for a player who has been embroiled in controversy and conflict with the organization?

"Whatever happens, happens," he said. "I'm prepared for it and I would love to be here. I love everything in coming to Dallas, the fans, the relationships I've built here. But, you know, if that's not what it is, that's not what it is."

Diggs, 27, was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021 and 2022 after recording 14 interceptions, including a spectacular total of 11 in 2021. That earned him a five-year extension worth $97 million in 2023 ... but he has played in just 19 games since.

He says he remains confident, though, and unworried about his future. And why?

"Because I know who I am," said Diggs, who we've long-speculated could be in his last season in Dallas because moving on from him in the spring creates $12 million of cap room. "I know what I'm capable of. I know what I can do. I'm not having a crisis of not knowing how to play football. I know how to play football. I know what I'm capable of. I know what skill set I have.

"It's just all about showing it, putting it out there and making plays that I've always made."
