It’s almost unfair to blame everything on Kevin Patullo amidst all of the Philadelphia Eagles’ struggles on the offensive side of the football.

Of course, we can look at what he’s done and what the offense has done this year and be disappointed, and fans would be right in thinking that, but at the end of the day, players have to do what they need to do.

If the Eagles aren’t executing on both sides of the football, they likely aren’t going to win games, and that’s been the result over the past few days.

For some former Eagles greats, including Donovan McNabb, he doesn’t think everything comes down to Patullo. Instead, he believes it’s more of the plays that are being called that are the issue.

"I'll tell you this, to be honest with you," McNabb said, per Patrick McAvoy. "I know everybody is coming down on Kevin Patullo and it's easy to point the finger at the offensive coordinator or the playcaller, but I think it's a little bit more than just the plays that he's not calling. I think so of the plays that he wants to call, he can't call it with this group. I don't think he fully trusts it with this group that we have...

"Think about this. In the first four games last year, we almost had this same feeling about Kellen Moore. And I said he needs to figure out an identity. Are you going to be a run-first football team, and play-action team, or are you going to throw first and then run?"

As I’ve said a few times about the Eagles, we can look at what they do on the offensive side of the football and not be too impressed.

That’s a problem because of all the talent they have, but at the end of the day, there doesn’t seem to be any flair or anything on that side of the football.

I’m not asking for the Eagles to go out and run trick plays every snap, but they have to get creative if they want to fix this offense at some point.

It’ll be interesting to see what type of changes are made, but it feels safe to say that something is going to happen sooner rather than later.
