PackersRoundtable/EaglesRoundtable Mash Up - Reaction to Packers vs. Eagles on Monday Night Football
Anthony Moeglin of RoundtableSports moderates an instant reaction breakdown of the Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia ...
There was plenty of football to talk about on Monday night with the RoundtableSports crew, as we talked about the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers game. You can check out the Packers' thoughts at the Packers Roundtable page, as we all had a bit to say about what we saw in a rather boring contest.
For the Eagles, while they didn't exactly play as well as they typically do, a win against a decent Green Bay Packers team is a good thing. We can't be upset that the Eagles won the game,
However, I do think there have been some concerning signs for the Eagles, and for this team to ultimately be what it's looking to be in the playoffs, it'll have to factor some of that in.
The Eagles cannot afford to let A.J. Brown continue to be a non-factor in most games, and with Saquon Barkley not exactly dominating the run game, that also leads to some concerning moments.
I wouldn't say that it's too early to press the panic button, but it does feel a bit premature. Ultimately, Barkley has to open up the pass game.
For somebody like Brown, that should help him get the football a lot more than he currently does, or at least give him an opportunity to go out and make plays.
Another thing that I want to talk about is that with this win, the Eagles have easily put themselves in a position to win the NFC East.
The NFC East hasn't been great this year, and that's due to the Dallas Cowboys not exactly being an elite team by any means, and the Washington Commanders dealing with a boatload of injuries. The New York Giants are decent, but after firing head coach Brian Daboll and dealing with all the injuries they've also faced, it doesn't seem like they'll have much of a run opportunity to do much at the end of this season.
While the Eagles were far from perfect on Monday night, I still think they went into a tough environment, and the defense showed us why it’s one of the best in the NFL.
A win is all that matters for right now, so we'll take it for what it is.
