This is not good.

The Eagles may have defeated the Lions on Sunday Night Football to improve to 8-2 on the season, but they lost star LT Lane Johnson to an injury.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Johnson suffered a Lisfranc injury against the Lions. He will likely be placed on injured reserve.

This is a big loss for the Eagles, as Johnson entered the Lions game with a 0.0 knockdown percentage (no sacks or QB hits allowed).

If Johnson does go on injured reserve, he will miss at least four games. The Eagles' next four opponents are the Cowboys, Bears, Chargers and Raiders.

Fred Johnson took over at right tackle against the Lions. He is now in line to start any or all of those games while Johnson is out.

Johnson is one the best players in the NFL. He's a two-time champion, a six-time Pro Bowler and a two-time All-Pro. Johnson has spent his entire NFL career with the Eagles. He's been with the franchise since 2013.

Johnson is 35. He turns 36 in May. There are some people around the NFL who believe the future Hall of Famer could retire after this season.

The Eagles are looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions. If the season ended today, Philadelphia would be the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Rams are 8-2 as well, but the Eagles beat Los Angeles earlier in the season, so they hold the tiebreaker.

The Eagles are 16th in the NFL in points per game and eighth in points per game allowed. Their offense has been mediocre this season, especially the passing game, which is why WR A.J. Brown has been complaining.

With Johnson out for the foreseeable future, it will be interesting to see how the Eagles do on offense. They were struggling with the All-Pro in the lineup, so they may decline in production with him out.
