Social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube have censorship guidelines which change from time to time to give ever increasing authority to these big companies over the type of content which could be published at these platforms.

While at BBS there is no central authority which govern censorship guidelines, instead there are bbs groups which run on rules and regulations set up by the owners and admins of any particular board and you can publish content as long as it falls under those regulations.
