I was happy that new Follow feature is implemented recently in the platform, and i think that it will have more impact when mobile app gets released, but as much as Follow feature is helpful for the members it also can do harm to BBS platform and some members.

Pros: You can follow admins and moderators to get notification when they post news and information about the board, also you like some ones posts and topics and you like to read all his posts when he publishes it, when you follow him you cant miss his posts.

Cons: I think this Follow feature can hurt a little members who are new also some members who don't post often and are not known by majority of board members, of course  they can follow others but only few will follow them back.

Also it's just my opinion, but there is a risk that some members will only follow some of their friends and some other members who are high contributors  and they will lose the interest to check other posts  published by other members  and only check the posts from notification.

Verdict

In my opinion this feature is very good and one of most effective feature that has ben released lately, and it was necessary for the platform especially now that we are waiting for Mobile App to be released
