I'm tired of the narrative that it's bad to want to monetize your work and community on BBS. I've made suggestions regarding the monetization and of the necessity of finding a unique selling point for BBS Network but get the feeling that monetization has become a dirty word. We are all supposed to be simply doing this out of the goodness of our hearts.
Yes it's important to enjoy what you're doing.
Yes the way rewards were handed out in the beginning was crazy but there's nothing wrong with wanting to monetize your work. Other social networks have that aspect. There are ways to do it that don't attract the bad players.
I'm also tired of the narrative that we're supposed to put up with bugs and other irritations because it's still a new platform.
The development choices seem to consistently cater to eradicating spammers and bad actors instead of prioritizing the issues the good users have with the platform. It sometimes feels like the management has a really poor opinion of the users.
When I use a platform I want my enjoyment of it to outweigh the pain points. I'm losing my patience. And I'm still looking at a clunky gray interface with minimal features.
