As a user who wants to support the communities I am in and fellow content creators, I want to see a banner at the top of each post to know if my view has counted towards supporting the post. I'm not really sure what I need to do to make my view count as it's a pretty complex thing to know.

In most other places it's as simple as click on a post and read it but here there are many conditions. So I made a few cheeky mock ups that should help users know if they are relevant or irrelevant.

What really counts?

The above banners are just a little fun. At the end of the day it's conversions that count and we don't know the actual conversion rates. If the uncounted views lead to conversions but the advertiser doesn't have to pay for them that's a win for the advertiser.

How to calculate conversions?

A possible way to test conversions would be for a board owner to pick an old post that nobody much ever saw then edit it so that it has an engaging giveaway for posting a long enough comment to exceed the timer. Picking an old post would keep it off the new list so that most of the views would likely come from the ad. Then they could see views, impressions and more importantly calculate how much of their spend resulted in a conversion. In this case a conversion would be a comment entry.

An alternative could be to have the ad go to an external location that is excluded from indexing so that all page views come from the ad campaign. They can count all views on this external page. The page can be something like a giveaway for new sign-ups or posts on their board where the person gets a prize for creating a post. Each contest entry would count as a conversion and then the conversion rate can be calculated.
