I had posted one before on questioning the relevance of the reputation system in terms of monetary value or use case and also received a lot of good explanations so from what I understood from that

The use case or value is next to nil other than collecting it as a bonus perk to showcase yourself in the top holders list which would be helpful in measuring your contribution while considering you for partnering 

That it's still in development and it's just the testing or beginning phase and will become a viable part of the platform for having certain specialities or hierarchy in the rewarding system and how the rate of rewards are given for impressions on their posts or some levels of user highlighting mechanism and categories 

Well this all can be assumptions also as it's up to the team to design the mechanism and the only this we can do as of now is predict and give feedback anyway I'm sure it will be something valuable sooner
