Having multiple pinned posts is an awesome sight to behold. The BBS network made a wise decision to expand that area of the network. 
Moving forwards, I’d like to see events or reputation based leagues to grant members access to one of the pinned boards. This would be both highly motivational for the user base, plus demonstrative of good will from board leaders. 
I suspect this idea is bubbling away in the creative minds of key decision makers already.
