So yesterday version 4.1 was implemented and today we see what difference this has made to each respective boards scores as well as the CPM values within these communities.
Now from the post in METABBS, see below:
We technically have all the information readily available to work it all out, though to the average joe at first glance it's confusing as hell. Trust me , took me a while to get my head around it and tbh, it still looks like some of the figures are a little out.
So working out the Rewards distribution to for each board, I'll use MetaBBS as an example for ease.
We have -
"In order to find the total rewards for a board, the board Score is multiplied by both the base CPM ($50/1000) and the network average of impressions per user."
"Rewards = Score * AvgImpression * BaseCPM"
So network average impression per user? I presume this must be Total Visits/Unique Members, as visits are the impressions that truly count.

So 6033/1378=4.378 (R3DP)
Average Impression per user for yesterday=4.378
Score is simple enough as we have it there to see,

Score=118.6
So now we have all metrics as Base CPM is 50/1000 so 0.05.
"Rewards = Score * AvgImpression * BaseCPM"
so 118.6 x 4.378 x 0.05
Rewards=$25.962
Though, from the rewards table it states that the daily rewards are $28.84.
As you can see below , which is inf act out by $2.878

So @0xreclamation, over to you on that one feel free to correct the errors of my ways.
The next one I'd like to look at is how to actually work out the boards SCORE, though as it stands we are unable to currently do this due to the mechanics of the rewards table.
Scores are worked out through board traffic, users, though the metrics used are from a period of 28 days as you can see from the formula below:
Score = DAU(d) + GF(d)
DAU = 28 day moving average of daily active users
GF = AvgDAU(1d) - AvgDAU(28d ago)
As everything on the platform is meant to be visible and traceable I think that the Rewards Table should be altered to show the time period needed to calculate the Score. As history has proven it's not always correct. As @CryptoGlyn can confirm.
Last but not least, and the one you possibly want to know about the most is the CPM alterations. If you haven't already been made aware they are now varying for each board based on a number of metrics.
CPM* = Rewards / BoardImpressions*1000
Ive made a quick breakdown of the main information below:

With these though you can in fact only work out an average as they don't update on a daily basis they are constantly updating. As from typing this up, then checking again there is some variation in CPM values. The CPMS above are of the time of writing.
But for explanations sake, if we take METABBS values-
30.06/506 x 100 =60.47 CPM,
so METABBS in theory should have started the day at 60cpm, though as its been quieter in there today it's now back up at 70cpm due to less impressions being divided by the rewards score, as i understand it.
What we can take from it though is that a board with a relatively low number of users, and high active impressions will suffer with a drop in CPM.
From this I can suggest that users/members don't just open posts for the sake of opening them. Only open and read posts that peak your interest, at the end of the day this is what the main aim of the platform is about.
Many will think this is bad for the platform, but it discourages gaming the system within respective boards and encourages owners of boards to improve growth. I'm personally increasing activity even more on twitter and incentivising members who share BBS sports on other platforms.
For a better CPM within a board you need to increase your Score, which means increasing traffic within the board. By this I mean more users.
Also discourage members from opening every post and leaving shallow comments in hope someone does the same for them. This will just cause to the CPM to drop further and further, the more a board is gamed the lower the CPM will become.
I for one actually agree with this change, as Tyler stated, no advertiser wants to pay for 1000 impressions from 50 users, they'd much rather pay for 1000 impressions from 200 users and so on.
Feel free to discuss, and tell me where I'm wrong
