BBS has a new challenger called Web5, Web5 share a lot of similarities with BBS as WEB 5 is presented as extension of web3, they both aim to give users control of data and identify back to the user.

BBS users data is public and anyone can read it, web 5 want to keep data public but in encrypted form users decides or give permission to the app to read data.

Web5 doesn't offer tokens like BBS, it basically Create more use cases Bitcoin as the intention is to use Bitcoin network to run WEB5.

BBS maybe first in trying to revolutionalise status quo of web 2 which offers it advantage, but strong competition from Jack Dorsey Web5 is coming.
