Ohio State Buckeye legend Urban Meyer received the greatest honor: his induction to the College Football Hall of Fame

Former Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer received the greatest honor a college coach could get on Tuesday, as he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, class of 2025.

Meyer's time in college football is highlighted by his turning around of the Utah Football program, followed by historic stops in Gainesville and Columbus.

The legendary head coach finished his career 187-32 with a 12-3 record in Bowl Games. He had one season in his entire career with over 4 losses, and in his final season as the Florida Gators head coach, he went 8-5 before being let go by the program. 12 of his 17 seasons were double-digit wins, and never did he have a losing record.

At Ohio State, he was the head man for seven total years, and he was dominant. Taking over after the program took a downturn, he restored it to greatness immediately. In his very first season, the Buckeyes put up a flawless 12-0 record and finished as the #3 team in the country.

Of course, they were banned from postseason play, so they had no opportunity to compete for the National Championship.

2014 was the claim to fame for Urban as a Buckeye. It was the very first year of the college football playoff, and Meyer's Buckeyes were on a mission. The Buckeyes won the Big Ten and entered the tournament as the fourth and final seed.

Ohio State was up against the dominant Alabama Crimson Tide, but it didn't matter. Meyer and the Buckeyes went "straight through the heart of the south" and took down head coach Nick Saban's Tide, setting up a date with quarterback Marcus Mariota's Oregon Ducks.

The National Championship game took place at Jerry's World, and it was all Buckeyes. Ohio State won that National Championship over Oregon 42-20, and Meyer etched his name as one of the great Ohio State coaches of all time.

Meyer's Buckeyes only got back to the playoffs one more time, where they caught the Clemson Tigers on a perfect day,

Meyer is a three-time National Champion and a guy credited with saving the Ohio State Buckeyes program after building the Florida Gators into a dominant force.

Meyer joined the aforementioned Saban, along with Larry Blakeney and Larry Korver, as the coaches inducted in the class of 2025. Blakeney built up a strong career at Troy University, while Korver made his career at Northwestern College (IA).

The players who headlined the 2025 class are Montee Ball from Wisconsin, Graham Harrell from Texas Tech, Alex Mack from Cal, Steve Slaton from West Virginia, Michael Strahan from Texas Southern, and Michael Vick from Virginia Tech.

Its a loaded class and it is led by Meyer.
