The 2025 NFL Season continues to be dominated by former Ohio State Buckeyes.
It should come as no surprise that the program has produced the potential offensive rookie of the year, offensive player of the year, several solid rookies, and veterans throughout the league. Ohio State constantly preaches that these players are "developed here", which has been proven each and every week.
Through the first seven weeks, the headlines have been dominated by the pass catchers, but the story of Week 8 was the quarterback position.
Remember Justin Fields? If you didn't before Sunday, you certainly do afterward.
Fields' NFL career has seen its fair share of ups and downs, from his time in Chicago to his quick stop in Pittsburgh to his current job at the helm of the New York Jets. The former standout Buckeye's season hasn't been great to this point, as the Jets were winless heading into Sunday.
To make matters worse, hours before kickoff, news broke that the former Buckeye Nick Mangold had passed away, and sadness swept through both the Ohio State and New York communities.
The next four hours can only be described as a miracle, as Fields led one of the most improbable comebacks to beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 39-38.
He finished the day completing 21 of his 32 pass attempts for 244 yards and one touchdown. In addition to his efforts through the air, Fields also rushed the ball 11 times for 31 yards and cashed in on two two-point conversions.
Fields was awesome, and Mangold was watching closely in Cincinnati.
Ohio State Buckeyes Open the "Third Quarter" Hosting the Penn State Nittany Lions
The Penn State Nittany Lions are paying their once bi-yearly trip to the Horseshoe. This game was slated to be one of the great games of the season until Pen...
Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud looked like himself for the first time in the 2025 season.
During the Texans battle against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Stroud was his surgical self, completing 30 of his 39 attempts for 318 yards and two touchdowns. He was consistently slicing up the San Francisco defense, leading Houston to a critical win.
Former Ohio State star running back TreVeyon Henderson has continued to work his way into more opportunities for one of the better teams in the NFL, the New England Patriots.
Luckily for the former 2025 second-round pick, he finally got a legit chance on Sunday and took advantage of it. He finished the win against Cleveland with 10 carries for 75 yards. He was sharp, showed burst and made some really nice plays for the Patriots.
It's not Monday Night Football without a Buckeye making a play.
While the Commanders were still in striking distance on Monday Night, quarterback Marcus Mariota eluded pressure and lobbed a ball up to the front of the endzone for McLaurin.
"Lobbed" is a generous way to describe a pass that bounced off the bottom side of the moon, as McLaurin had to make a tough adjustment. He hauled in the catch and perfectly dragged his two feet on the ground for a touchdown.
As the NFL turns to the home stretch, expect the Buckeyes to continue making major contributions week in and week out.
