Christian Watson's uncertain status thrusts several others into the spotlight. Can they deliver the offensive spark the Green Bay Packers desperately need against the Chicago Bears?

Christian Watson wants to play for the Green Bay Packers in this massive Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears. Heck, if he has his way, he will play. This is despite the fact that less than a week ago he had to go to the hospital because of a spill he took on the field.

At first it looked like a shoulder, then a collarbone. Then there was concern about ribs. On Tuesday, he was listed on the injury report with chest and shoulder injuries, but it sounds like he's dealing with bruising more than anything.

And that's why he wants to play, and the Packers need him to play in this one because he's been their best wide receiver since returning from an ACL injury in late October.

“I’ll probably just have something in my pads for game day just to be cautious. … Honestly, it’s feeling pretty good for everything considered, so I think it’ll be all right for the game,” Watson said earlier this week, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “Obviously, I gotta make sure that they clear me in the medical room and everything and make sure everything’s good, but I mean, yeah, my goal is just to have a couple good days leading up to the game, and hopefully it feels a little bit better each and every day. And we’re at the point in the season where you gotta fight through some stuff, so should be good.”

If Love can go and he's as close as possible to 100-percent on Saturday night, he'll undoubtedly be quarterback Jordan Love's favorite target.

If he can't play or is limited, though, these three players must step up

Matthew Golden, this is your time to shine

The Packers need Matthew Golden to start playing like a first-round pick. He's shown flashes and he clearly has a decent rapport with Love. The issue is that he's yet to find the end zone as a rookie and he really hasn't taken the top off the defense like his speed indicates he should be able to do.

He's a more "gadgety" player than Watson, but this is still a player who can run a 4.29 40-yard-dash.

More than ever, the Packers need Golden to start living up to his potential.

Jayden Reed has WR1 upside for the Packers

Jayden Reed has only been back for two games for Green Bay since suffering an injury earlier this season, but he's already made his presence known. He caught 4-of-4 targets for 31 yards against the Bears and caught 5-of-6 targets for 55 yards against the Broncos.

Reed has always been a player who could be considered a borderline WR1 for the Packers. He's fast, shifty, is great after the catch and has solid hands.

It's time to let him loose.

What can the Packers get out of Luke Musgrave?

Luke Musgrave is no Tucker Kraft, but he's proven to be a decent outlet for Love over the past few games and the two may be developing some chemistry. In fact, he had his best game of the season against the Broncos as he caught four passes for 52 yards, averaging 13 yards per catch.

Musgrave is a legitimate deep threat as a tight end but the Packers haven't really shot him down the seam to see what he can do yet this season. Perhaps that's one way head coach Matt LaFleur can surprise the Bears on Saturday night, and that's even if Watson ends up playing.
