The Packers face the lowly Giants this week and one NFL analyst thinks Green Bay WR Christian Watson is going to have a monster game.
Michael Florio of NFL.com is predicting that Watson will have a career game against the Giants.
"The Giants have allowed the third-most yards to WRs," Florio wrote. "Specifically, they have allowed the third-most yards on deep passes, and they play man coverage at the second-highest rate. Since returning to action in Week 8, Watson leads the Packers receivers in yards on deep passes and against man coverage. He goes boom in a big way this week, topping his best career outing of 150 receiving yards in Week 11 of last season."
Watson has appeared in three games this season after recovering from his ACL tear. He has eight catches for 188 yards.
"I like being just football sore and not ACL and knee sore," Watson said on Thursday. "It's been fun for me to get back to regular football, and I've been enjoying it. It's just good to be back out there."
The Packers can't lose to the Giants. After losing to the Eagles on Monday Night Football, Green Bay dropped to third place in the NFC North after being in first place a few weeks ago.
New York is only 2-8 on the season and just fired Brian Daboll.
"We just gotta find a way to not leave those plays out there. That's the No. 1 thing," Watson said. "I think you point out just a couple plays offensively where if we would've had those, we probably would've been able to put some points on the board and made it a different ballgame. We just gotta continue to find ways to execute better."
The Packers, led by QB Jordan Love, are averaging 23.7 points per game, which is good for 15th in the NFL. Green Bay has scored just 20 points in the last two games against the Panthers and Eagles after putting up 35 points in a win against the Steelers.
It will be fascinating to see if Watson has a terrific game against the Giants like Florio is predicting to happen.
