It seems like Green Bay Packers' star quarterback Jordan Love has been in the NFL for years now.
That's partially true, of course. Love was selected by the Packers with the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, so technically, he's been in the NFL for for six seasons now.
In the pantheon of great NFL quarterbacks in 2025, Love is far from a veteran, though. Love is 26 years old and will turn 27 in a couple of weeks on November 2. In the meantime, Matthew Stafford is 37, Dak Prescott is 32, Jared Goff is 31 and Patrick Mahomes is 30. Heck, the quarterback Love took over for in Green Bay and his opponent on Sunday Night Football in Week 8, Aaron Rodgers, is 41 and rounding the corner to 42.
The point is this: Love is still a relatively young quarterback in the NFL. He's even younger when it comes to true starting experience when you remember the fact that he sat his first three seasons behind Rodgers.
What that means is that Love is still taking his lumps. He's still learning and growing as a quarterback, but we've seen some tremendous evidence over the past few weeks that he's really starting to figure "it" out.
More specifically, he's starting to find that clutch gene.
Go back to Green Bay's loss to the Cleveland Browns. The 13-10 loss overshadows the fact that late in the game, Love orchestrated a potentially game-winning drive, but Brandon McManus' field goal was blocked.
A few days later in the 40-40 tie to the Dallas Cowboys, Love went toe-to-toe with a veteran quarterback in Prescott. Love orchestrated a game-tying drive with 43 seconds to go in regulation and then put together a final game-tying drive in overtime.
Love led a field goal drive with 4:11 to go in the fourth quarter that helped the Packers close out the Cincinnati Bengals. Against the Arizona Cardinals this past weekend, Love went 2-for-3 on fourth down throws, including a clutch 15-yard pass to Tucker Kraft with 2:32 to go in the game that kept Green Bay's game-winning touchdown drive alive.
"Finding a way to win is what makes good teams become elite," running back Josh Jacobs said after the win over Arizona, according to the team website. "Finding a way to win in this league is always the most important thing."
There have been a few head-scratching moments for Love this season and he may not ever live up to the two franchise quarterbacks that came before him in Rodgers and Brett Favre, but through six games this season, Love has certainly looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Even better for the Packers, he's starting to develop that "it" factor.
He's thrown for 1,438 yards and 10 touchdowns compared to two interceptions so far in 2025. His average QBR has been 70.3.
