Looking ahead to 2026, Burger’s offensive resurgence will be key for the Rangers and their offense to bounce back and return to the postseason.

Prior to the 2025 season, the Rangers acquired Jake Burger from the Miami Marlins, replacing World Series hero Nathaniel Lowe.

Burger had high expectations after connecting on 29 home runs and knocking in 76 runs in 2024 with Miami.

Unfortunately for the Rangers, Burger didn’t live up to those expectations as he struggled with injury and swing-and-miss in his first season with Texas.

Burger slashed .236/.269/.419 with 16 home runs and 53 RBI in 103 games with the Rangers in 2025.

Defensively, after working extensively in the off-season, Burger had a strong year playing first base full time for the first time in his career.

Looking ahead to 2026, Burger’s offensive resurgence will be key for the Rangers and their offense to bounce back and return to the postseason.

Health will of course also be a big factor for Burger in 2026 after multiple IL stints last season.

However, the Rangers believe that if he can stay healthy, Burger can bounce back and be amongst the highest producing first baseman in MLB and be a key piece in leading an offensive resurgence to help get the team back to the postseason.
